I understand the character designs were somewhat poor...but they all had a distinct personality to me (and that's more important to me than the artwork) and I agree that there were a lot of chances to make a better story/spend more time with backstory and overall cohesion of the story that they just threw ecchi into.
Still, I enjoyed most of it as comedy, with some suspense. And I'm pretty sure they could just animate dragons for a whole season, with no dialogue, no story, no characters..and I'd still give it a high rating. lol

My predictions for Summer 2014 will be like every other season of anime. I will watch everything, drop 50% within the first episode, the next 30% within the next three, and then the last 20% the episode before the finale.

GBF is a spin off. AGE, the most recent flagship, had 50 episodes. I guess we will have to see how long G-Reko is planned to be, but I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if it was 50.

Glasslip is a show I 100% won't drop. Unless they pull some bullshit supernatural twist. Those always ruin it for me.

Knights of Sidonia: + Show Spoiler +Hoshijiro nooooo! man, I can't believe they actually killed her off. I've passed the part where he was told to blow his detonation in secret then when it happened, he got blamed for messing up the mission, zoned out only to be attacked and almost killed by the hive Gauna. Hoshijiro ends up saving him but she loses her life. Man, that Kunato is such a stupid prick. Pulling off that kind of stunt because he's jealous that Nagate got the type 17 and was getting famous due to defeating the first Gauna. I hope he ends up dying for that bullshit stunt of his! I did end up making it to the part where Nagate and his group fought against those three humanoid gaunas and he gets a sample of the placental Hoshijiro. Last scene was her saying MO-M and TA-NI-ZA-KE so I wonder what's the purpose of that. Deep down, I'm hoping she's actually alive with her life being deemed important by the Gauna and that she returns to Nagate  Sad show so far.

+ Show Spoiler +ya, I dislike how he kept yapping about not getting it. Maybe if you perform, they'll do something about it and give you another similar suit or build another one for you. Heck, who the hell cares? if you're the best with type 18, then there's no need to throw a fit over the type 17. Stop feeling so entitled to it! Given, that's a normal character type in anime lol.
He does seem to have a change of heart after Nagate talks to him but I dunno. I'm still pretty sad that they chose to kill off Hoshijiro though. Originally, I thought Nagate and Izana would be nice together but I grew to like Hoshijiro's character a lot. Nagate finally kills off Benisuzume which is too bad since I loved how there was this one strong Gauna that can keep up and threaten them in a humanoid form. Did they mention what happened to placenta Hoshijiro? All I saw was the writing on Nagate so umm, she dispersed or something?
Overall though, I enjoyed the anime. I liked the animation within 2 episodes (I think I lagged during the 1st lol) and most of the characters. I'm excited for season 2 and still hope that Hoshijiro somehow comes back (I didn't see a corpse so I can believe! lol).

Yes the manga is good and it answers a lot of the questions u have. However its still on going so ofc there is stuff that aren't resolved. Also more characters that are great that come in later (the teaser at the end of Sidonia 12 shows one of them is you saw it).

Just finished episode 13. I liked this one, even though it felt really rushed these last few episodes. The relationships between the characters were good and the story was crazy without being stupid.
+ Show Spoiler +I liked how when they pushed that top button on Kuroha's she remembered her childhood with Ryoka and everything, and then when she came to afterwards didnt even know who he was. I admit I teared up a bit at that part. It was a good ending I think
I'll give Sidonia a shot, but I'm going into it thinking i dont really like mecha's i donno what it is about somebody in a giant mech suit pushing buttons that is so exciting to people, I just dont get it.
