But you can't deny, that if I don't like both, standard comedies and the 'cute girls doing cute stuff' genre, then there is almost nothing for me. Fall looks good so far though. And also OVAs/movies are kinda OK so I don't even mind less TV shows for now.

I'm just gonna settle for stuff relevant to romance. Not all of these might be super duper happy all way through but they're not School Days or some shit. It only makes it harder cos we probably don't have same idea of "corny" etc.

There's still plenty of stuff that doesn't fit your description, even though the season is quite heavy on cute girls and comedy shows.

True Tears made me pissed. Also, are you really interested in only shows that focus on romance, and not shows that aren't romance genre, but still has a great romance in it? Because Crest/Banner of the Stars has a really nice chemistry between the main characters, for example.

well i dont mind if the romance isnt listed in the genre but pops up later, i guess i bit like angel beats (even tho romance is listed on mal) but like how its all funny action and just seemingly random plots, i enjoyed it alot and i especially loved the ending. Mostly i like romance stuff because of the "feels" scenes (but i also like it to be kinda relate-able in the sense of school life/uni life/daily life, rather than supernatural, fantasy, scifi settings) idk im weird lol

Honey and Clover has quite a bit of romance undertones without fulling being a romance. Lovely Complex Hanbun no Tsuki ga Noboru Sora is quite short, but I also felt it was really good. Clannad/Clannad After Story True Tears Kimi ga Nozomu Eien

While technically speaking Rozen Maiden is full of cute girls (dolls count as girls right?) doing cute-by-technicality things, it's certainly more dramatic than that! Especially since this one will be based on the manga and includes the bundle of crazy that is Kirakishou.
There's also Free. That has cute boys doing cute stuff.
