Also been watching Gundam. I understand now the hype around docking and beams. I'm guessing franky's stuff is Oda's way of winking at Gundam? Like Lucy and Scarlett for Fairy Tail?
I don't have a problem with ODA going for another decade. Reading it every wednesday with my morning coffee well into my mid thirties sounds awesome and it will be regarded as a masterpiece and ongoing series of almost 30 years by then :D.

Well, not just Gundam, but mecha in general. I jokingly say that Franky's stuff is Oda's love letter to me, since I'm a really big fan of gundam and mecha in general.
if i had to kill off the character i thought is least important, it would be brook if i had to kill off a character to make the story more dramatic it would be usopp. most likely to die and i could easily see an emotional story being written around usopp dying

Usopp can die and still be called a brave warrior but Brook has to survive and see Laboon one last time

Or maybe it's just me. Nami was the most interesting character next to zoro pre-timeskip . Now i don't even care about her parts. Oda is no longer making her interesting.
Come on guys, Nami came up with the idea of 3 cards that is very important to the plot of this saga which are Momo, the factory and Caesar. She was able to devise the importance of keeping them away from Dofla in order to buy time or whatever. Robin is also important because of her ability to translate the glyphs but its true that she is walking boobs for 90% of the time there are no ponyglyphs to be translated.
If I could choose someone to die, I would choose Sanji. He may be irreplaceable as cook and useful in other regards, but.... His personality always rubbed me the wrong way. Behaving like a complete spaz around women makes me wanna beat him each time.

Anyway, if one of the strawhat member must die, I would choose Robin. She used to be the top member for Baroque work . Maybe higher than Mr.1? Back when the storyline, Shichibukai is considered extreme elite force (before new world, so many strong people now) . And she is so strong with strong fruit ability I just feel she is very strong and can beat anyone.
Back then I feel Shichibukai is another level, and being secretary of Crocrodile is extremely dangerous and strong, and she defeat the strongest warrior in the country. Pel ? And oso the marine, with backbreaker and so ..scary ability.
The CLUTCH. Back then I was young and the clutch always make me uncomfortable. I got scared everytime she used this ability. Its too cruel.
She was confident and feel like a great addition to Strawhat team, with good resume keke. But start to slowly become like Nami in sideline after awhile . .
I just feel maybe if she dont die, she will start become a smaller role in strawhat crew, if she die sooner. maybe I will remember her more strongly. Since her resume will not be stain anymore further by becoming sideline character. .

Also I really haven't understood yet why Shanks had to sacrifice an arm for Luffy. Even if he wasn't at the power level he is at now, I'm puzzled as why he just gifted an arm, given he was skirmishing with Mihawk on equal footing.
