Is the anime terribly worse then the manga? Or is it just really shite to start off with or something? Came across as a 2012 kids cartoon really, didnt enjoy it at all. Luffy is a twat, and that other kid in the glasses -______-. Will i just not like it or what? | ||

One piece didn't become a master piece over night, the author had 10+ years of practice to master his storytelling. The early chapters serve as character building for luffy first and then each of the crews he recruits. I would just go through the manga instead of the anime, it takes too long. | ||

Imho, One Piece is a master piece from the start. The story is interesting and the universe is complex. All the plots and every bit of information is (seems !!) to be planned years and years ago. That's why it keeps us readers interested in the universe. @Dattish One Piece is an old wine, we fans enjoy it in little bits and enjoy the wait to the next revelation in the story. I would advice you to READ the MANGA !! because the anime / adds bullshit comedy only for the kids... it's targeted for a younger audience - plus it must stretch the plot into a 30 minutes show ... | ||

Even if it is childish some times and kinda crazy and nonsense it's a very deep story, very emotional and with a huge influx of deep caracters that is makes up for it's crazyness. Oda is indeed a genious because no matter what happens, the story is always better, the caracters get more interesting and the story pushes forward, reveling more and more.. I can't have enough of this and even if this story takes 50 years to end, i will always follow it. The day this manga finishes will be one of the most beautifull and also saddest days ever! | ||
