I really liked this movie and looking forward to the next one with Jason Statham!
All of these movies had great entertainment value, I enjoyed each one for very different reason and would highly recommend all of them.
lol. right
everyone in this thread should just log in, post movies they've seen recently, and leave. discussion and debate have no place in an internet forum
Watched The Paper for the first time a couple days ago. Fucking loved it. So many movies can't even pull off one good climax. This movie felt like it had three.
And it has one of the best fight scenes ever.
I've really come to appreciate movies that use less music. Silence can make a moment so much more real, while also avoiding shoving a feeling down your throat. It gives a great sense of uncertainty

I´ll give it 9/10!
The only thing that disturbs me in this series is that they go towards more realism, more 'splosions, all out war etc. It features less and less of an underground racing and more of your typical action movie with soldiers in it...
Recently seen: GI JOE 3D and The Host (Stephanie Meyer stuff) Rating: 1/10 for both of them - utter garbage, I wasn't even able to force myself to sit through entire Host thingie.
Man of Steel (Zack Snyder) The smartest guy of a dying extra-terrestrial race decides to send his son to Kansas so that he can learn real american values which apparently includes dying for the most stupid reason ever. The writing is terrible through and through. Some of it has to do with the Superman myth, but the overserious tone really doesn't help. I mean when the costume is revealed, I had to laugh... The few attempt at humours were particularly abysmal, including the final double entendre, which would be perfectly at its place in Joel Schumacher's Batman and Robin. Worse though, the action was really not very good at all. It looked like a sort of lame DBZ episode with more money. Well I'm a bit tough here, there were a few nice shots here and there, but it was overall so bad they had to rely of very loud punch sound and an horrible music that was very fucking loud and pierced through my ears. Hans Zimmer, I hate you. Henry Cavill isn't really good (plus his always-perfect brushing was just...), Amy Adams ain't much better. I guess the saving grace of the film was Russel "Maximus" Crowe, who despised his overly post-produced-or-i-don't-know-what-voice is actually manly. I'd like to point out that the friend who went with me and was the main reason I chose this movie (he wanted a blockbuster, and this one was the most practical) felt asleep while watching. 2.5/10
It's taken me a while to get around to seeing this classic, especially cause it's a local thing for me and we actually have a plumber or handyman who's Tom Savini's cousin. It's really fun as expected. I wasn't that impressed by the effects, they improved so greatly by Day of the Dead though. The original Dead trilogy is fantastic overall, still the first place (and only essential place) you should go for zombies.
Also went to see The Blues Brothers in a midnight movie theater, which is one of the most fun movies ever (and I think it's really good too). I like all the little jabs at social issues it makes which I really noticed this time. Only thing it could have used is people at the showing to decide to get up and sing and dance.
If you liked crazy, stupid love, this is basically the korean version, except that I liked this one way better
Ahah I'll make a note of this for a lazy Saturday afternoon in the future.
The majority of summer blockbusters have not matched their hype (Iron Man 3, Star Trek, MoS). FF6 was especially disappointing, the quality was basically a reversion to Tokyo Drift. Gina got a surprising amount of screen time, at the expense of traditional FF characters - I was not a fan of this at all.
The last two summer movies I've watched, Lone Ranger and Pacific Rim, however, did not overplay their cards. They know they're summer flicks, so they don't overstep their bounds. My best this year remains WWZ. It's not even Pitt's best performance, and heck the story (what with the rewrite) still coulda been stronger, but 2013 has been fairly average overall so it is what it is.

It was was ridiculous when they didn't show Segen's arm when he cut her hand off or when his crowbar was stuck in that zombie. It was very distracting.
New World 3/10 Most movies are 10x more appealing to me on plane flights for whatever reason. But this film still stunk. Just seemed like a lazy rehash of a lot of different things I've seen in other mob flicks (e.g. Dirty Carnival and the Godfather). The ending was especially terrible.

The Ghost and Mrs Muir (at the limit of the genre), The Shop Around the Corner, Ninotchka, Trouble in Paradise, A Lesson in Love, Smiles of a Summer Night, Annie Hall, When Harry meets Sally...

Darn. I was looking forward to watching it.
I watched Pacific Rim. The Kaiju scenes are awesome.
I had to make a security answer for "What is your favorite movie/film?" and cyberpunk prevails! The Blu-Ray version of "The Matrix" is incredible and the aesthetics are enhanced, it makes me more enraptured in the dystopian setting.
