Also 21 Jumpstreet, thought this movie was pretty funny but I am entertained easily and laugh at pretty much anything. I liked it, another 7/10.

everyone suffers from some horrible fate, the woman gets her cosmetic surgery, and no one learns a single thing, Like all Coen movies, its less about the characters themselves but the environment around the characters. I think the critical problem I had with the film is that everyone is so intentionally frustrating (even the cinematography as well) that, unlike thematically similar movies like The Big Lebowski or A Serious Man, it ends up feeling a bit too misanthropic for my liking.

![]() 9.5/10. I'm really surprised lynch made this. The story's actually understandable in the first watch through. Anyways, the premise is a man born with a deformed face + body who has lived his whole life in a circus being treated like a freak. His proprieter calls him the elephant man. A surgeon (a young anthony hopkins) comes along and tries to take him to a hospital to study. no matter how manly you think you are, if you have even an ounce of emotion in you, you will shed a few tears. Anthony hopkins is just fantastic in this. I didn't like him in any of his roles post-hannibal, he tends to over-act but his performance here was subtle and toned down enough that any of us could probably relate to what he does: the good and the bad. Highly recommend it even if you're not a david lynch fan. This is nothing like his other works and is pretty accessible. + Show Spoiler + the scenes that really got to me is when he's talking about his mother to Anthony Hopkin's wife , and when he reads Romeo and Juliet for the first time. 8/10 Finally got around to finishing this series. Stopped after the third episode because I'm not a huge scifi fan and I thought the dialogue was pretty cheesy. It gets a lot better and funnier later on. Even if you're not into space, aliens, etc I'd recommend just for the snappy banter and characters. ![]() 10/10. go watch this now. I postponed watching it despite hearing all the high praise for it just because it seemed like a senseless gorefest. But it's just perfect in every aspect I can think of (and not that gory surprisingly). Be sure to watch the director's cut if you do, because they leave out a really critical scene in the end that really made the movie for me.

![]() Just watched on Netflix.. The first 30 min. weren't too bad. My biggest gripe with the movie isn't that it was too braindead or had too many Bay-splosions. It was just plain boring. I was invested in literally noone. The human deaths were meh. The autobot deaths? I barely knew the names of them half the time. The fights were boring too. The scene with the robot worm and the final battle with Optimus were the only scenes that stood out for me. The choppy editing really made the movie a complete mess to follow. Random, sometimes beautiful set pieces wasted on some corny one-liner or flashy explosion - cut to concerned look on government official's face. Halfway in it had already reached the bottom of the barrel for me, so by the end I think I gave it 0.5 stars just because it couldn't really go any lower. And Shia LaBeouf's "OPTIMUUSSSS" scream has really run it's course. Sigh. Like, how hard it is to make a coherent product like the first movie? Transformers 1 was a fantastic time. T2 was pure dogshit. Thank god I waited till it was free to watch (but it stole my time from me, so I guess it wasn't really free now was it....). ~1/4 stars The original Thai version of Shutter. DON'T WATCH THE AMERICAN VERSION AS IT + Show Spoiler + USES THE SAME PLOT TWISTS/SCARES AND RUINS THEM BY DOING IT SO MUCH WORSE. This movie was awesome. Super coherent, lots of jump scares, and is kind of psychological in a way. Nothing really seems out of place except + Show Spoiler + the scene where they visit the dead girl's house and there are chemical bottles everywhere? I don't understand what that scene was implying. 3/4 stars (only because I watched the American remake before it and it really took away from my experience...)

![]() IMDB It was scary at times, but i really don't know what to think of it. It's kind of going the H.P. Lovecraft way, meaning you are scared more of stuff you don't see or understand. Or isn't it? I never saw a movie leaving me as "wtf was that?" as this one. I can't even rate it. I had fun though reading the different conclusions people came to.

Thought it was somewhat stereotypical and whatnot, but overall I really enjoyed it. 7.5/10 ![]() This movie has THE MOST BEAUTIFUL choreography ever, the choreographer is indeed a true legend. MUST SEE for all fans of fight and action scenes. The plot is good but could be explained better and second "part" of the movie feels odd, sort of like Death Note episodes after L's death, but still the characters and action are spectacular. Go watch it! ![]()

Realistic violence and emotions, a unique script and some amazing performances from several actors. Reasons to not watch it: If you don't like japanese people at all. Do skip the second one though, kind of a let down. On topic: ![]() 7.5/10: Good performance from Kirk Douglas and a good story but somewhat emotionally disconnected (I felt). What did surprise me is seeing The Host make his list, that movie is so ridiculously awesome and like no one knows about it. Edit: Wow also Memories of Murder. His entire list is filled with amazing movies but I'm surprised he knows about those 2 specifically.

His entire list is filled with amazing movies but I'm surprised he knows about those 2 specifically. Those two movies are pretty well-known oO Plus Tarantino has seen like every fighting/B film/horror movie ever. And yeah, I'm not really surprised this is Tarantino's taste, but I completely disagree... In fact I think Reservoir Dog is better than most of this list^^ And I wouldn't put any of those on my Top50 list. Also have to agree that Battle Royal is a bad movie, and that if you want to watch japanese cinema you should watch some Kurosawa, some Kitano, or well, anything but this... To stay on topic : http://films.blog.lemonde.fr/files/plaisir.jpg Le plaisir (the pleasure), Max Ophüls Absolute masterpiece. Adaptation of Maupassant, a french writer I dislike, but the camera movement, the actin, the photography are just marvelous. Plus there is a sensible change of tone compared to the written work. http://www.cinemotions.com/data/films/0128/01/1/affiche-Les-Fraises-sauvages-Smultronstallet-1957-2.jpg Wild Strawberries. Bergmann is a genious, enough said. https://encrypted-tbn1.google.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcR-OYMBz8ZkN8CCst_L2E-yWLRTMnAoduQBdTvA87sttsTg50Rf Angel's Share, Ken Loach Funny at moments, the movie suffer from Loach's obsession with social issues, which he awlays seem to see in black and white and that he doesn't manage to make very interesting here. He's done way better than that (I think everyone should watch Land and Freedom).

But The Host was kind of a blockbuster no? At least I know a lot of people who have seen it.
