Thats why they pushed the little boy off there. You are correct. And I don't want to be too rude, but this has been asked about 75 times already. :-)

The goal of the Queen and her brother was to prevent the boy from talking AND disguise his death as accidental. That's why Jaime didn't rip Bran's guts aparts with his sword and just gently pushed him through the window when the boy saw him riding the Queen. The assassin's dagger contradicts this goal. He should have wanted to strangle the boy, or choke him with a pillow, or poison him, this way no one would have lead further investigation. Given the medieval settings, I don't think they're aware of autopsies... So you might say, maybe he had planned to do that, but he took his dagger when he saw Catelyn - who "wasn't suppposed to be here". Well, aparently she has been sitting in the room since her boy fell, and the Queen herself saw her when she came to visit the boy, so that's kind of strange but nevermind. (I know he set on a fire as a diversion, but still). The big problem is : why was he given a dagger in the first place if the plan was to discretly murder the boy ? And why an assassin would need a weapon to just (because no one is "supposed to be here") kill a fucking sleeping child ? You know, assassins often already have weapons so that they can assassinate people... But maybe it was like a special dagger, + 15 damage against innocent sleeping 10-years olds, with a critical chance of not missing so he's sure to hit...
For me, the dagger spells a word in giant blood-red letters : CONVENIENCE. It is a VERY convenient way to make the Starks realize the Lannisters want Bran dead...
The fire was supposed to not only catch the attention of the guards, but also get Catelyn away from Bran. That didn't work so he had to pull the dagger. Why he had the dagger you'll have to see in future episodes ;-)
In this book hardly anything is just coïncidental
PS: they casted the perfect actor to play Thyrion. Absolutely love him =)

I was expecting many more comments for the Ep2 then what is here so far. Come on people, say what you think?!
I loved it and the show managed to make me feel the same sadness and outrage that I felt when reading the book. This makes this show extremely good both as a stand alone TV show and as a conversion from the book series.

What the hell, they killed the butcher's boy and an innocent dog; that's just sick. Sad fact is people are more outraged by the dogs death than the boy.

I hope the guy that was playing Game of Thrones drinking game got enough deaths and tits to get drunk after this episode as well :D
|
Also really happy with the actress who plays Arya. She's exactly how I imagined her to be

I wonder how are they going to do them later when each of the live ones will be as huge as the corpse of direwolf they showed in the pilot.

Does it still bother everyone else that they made all the children older than they actually were? Every time they mention Bran being 10, Rickon being 6, Arya being whatever she is, I correct them out loud.
I also would have preferred that tehy keep the "it should have been you" line in there. It's important for Catelyn's character, to show that she's not all good, and can be spiteful and mean (just like everyone else in GoT). The whole point of the books is that NO ONE is all good, and no one is all bad either.
Look man, you cant just cast every person by age, in a perfect world maybe. But arguing over a few years is rediculous. AS far as Daenerys they found a 20 year old actress to play a 15 year old because she gets naked duhh. Cant have a 16 year old getting naked and doing rape scenes now can we?

That's one thing I'm worried about. Once it become clear that basically everyone likeable gets killed off, and basically everyone in general gets killed off, I think a lot of casual viewers will get turned off. Right now the rating are "decent", and nothing bad or shocking has really even happened yet. People cry about the dog dying? What's going to happen when main plot characters start dying or turning into giant d-bags?

I don't mind people dying, it was just surprising what happened, more than half the characters are dbags already I just want to see more fighting and those creatures.
My only complaint is that they are focusing more on the sex scenes than on the fighting; episodes seem to end rather fast.

Why are ppl so upset? Don't they know it's a show? They actually didn't kill anyone.. lol some people.

Its the beggining and they are trying to cram in as much background as possible. Trust me, this show/series gets nuttier. I reccomend reading the books. FYI for anyone who had a problem with ned killing the pup and the butchers boy dying....... expect far more and far worse lol
