It's because all the main characters in these shows are involved in criminal enterprises and their female counterparts serve as an impediment to their routine. So the main reason that these female characters are disliked is because the stop the main characters from doing what they do best, which irritates the viewers. | ||

Deb's a bitch, Rita was a waste of airtime... The entire concept of the love interests in this show for dexter is to show that he has some emotions and humanity inside of himself despite him claiming he's emotionless. And everytime he gets close to someone, something bad happens. Rita was the first time things went good for a longer time, and helped him deal with being more human, but ultimately even that was taken from him, which further fuels his goals. People who bitch and moan about this stuff, absolutely don't know what they're watching and would be better off just going to watch expendables 2 and the saw/hostel movies so they can see explosions, and torture with little to no story. | ||

Also why did they get rid of the IT guy, it really felt like he was going to morph into a character. Personally I don't really care that they got rid of him but it just seemed so strange the way they got rid of him. | ||
