You don't tag spoilers in threads about a specific thing such as the discussion of a TV show or book when the purpose of the thread is to discuss the tv show or book. Only thing you put in spoilers are things related to books. Like the Walking Dead thread is related to comics, comic related plot is put in spoilers.

Am I the only one that need to see her more, not because of how annoying or atractive she is, but simply because of a good story behind her. Yeah sure, having sex with dex within a span of a week is close to impossible but it's a movie, a damn movie, what else did you expect ?
What annoyed me more than anything was that dex ended up alone again. It really pissed me off to no end. I thought they'd end up getting together and start all over again for season 6. Glad that lumen didn't die though.. Hell that'd almost stop me watching anymore dex's seaon.
Rita was just dull. I was sooo fucking tired of seeing such an ignorant girl. The beginning was ok but i couldn't stand her anymore. There's like 0% chance of it happening.
Argh. Hope i'm not alone though.

Amazing series. The best I seen.
My favorite Seasons in this order:
1 ( was just a masterpiece)
4 ( amazing season. well developed and the Trinity ending was one of my favorites)
3 ( It was a pretty good season, kept me interested the whole time )
5 ( Good season but somewhat predicting at times, casting Julia styles for that part wasn't a good idea )
2 (I may be the only one but the whole realtionship of with Layla was extremely uninteresting to me, the ending also was not up to par with the rest of the seaons)

for me personally second was 2nd best season. I ignored the plot almost entirely, but i think the psychological aspect of it, Dexter's thoughts out loud were absolutely fantastic. 4th had amazing plot but what it was just a show, i felt, lacking that "insight" if you may

Dexter is literally my favorite TV series of all time...and I've watched quite a few series...
I'd rate the seasons as follows (having watched them all within about a month's time for the first time ever):
Season 1: 9.5 - amazing season and a perfect introduction into the world of Dexter. I loved the interplay between him and villain.
Season 2: 8.5 - Great season...and while at first I liked Layla...she got pretty annoying pretty fast. Not only that, but I was just overall too stressed out with the whole plot line.
Season 3: 7.0 - A good season overall that took a while to get going. There never was a true villain until kind of the end, so it overall didn't interest me as much. But the end of the season was quite great with some terrific acting from Dex and his once accomplice.
Season 4: 10.0 - Perfect season with an amazing villain (trinity). Acting here was superb and the whole story arc was truly engaging and entertaining. One of the most shocking endings of all time, yet still beleivable.
Season 5: 8.0 - A very good season with an interesting story. Personally, I enjoyed the part Julia Stiles played and thought she did a fine job. The ending was a tad bit of a let down for me, but still very good.

My guess would be that it's the child of one of the people Dexter killed. Dexter has been on the prowl for several years so it would be perfectly possible for him to kill the father of a young child and then have that child grow up to seek vengeance.
So my guess is the child of one of his victims.

It would be nice to know how much time has gone by since season five and six, I suppose we'll find out when the season starts. But it would give more room for speculations though. I can't wait till the new season starts, all though that is soooo far away :'(

+ Show Spoiler +While I accept that "You made me into what I am" is in the trailer deliberately, it isn't new dialogue. Appears in Season 2, Episode 5, Dark Defender. Reused line from when Dexter confronts Jimenez.
Likewise, Debra saying "Oh my God" is from Season 1, Episode 12 when Debra and Rudy on the boat together and she has been restrained. If you listen carefully, you can even hear the rustling of tools from where Rudy was checking "supplies".
Either way, I'm really looking forward to the new season. Hopefully, we can put the disappointment of Season 5 behind us.
