+ Show Spoiler + broly is so cool (but it's so dumb!!) And even though it's not Canon, he did have a backstory that was... plausible and Toriyama said he's changing it to fit supper. I wonder how they will fit him with the yamoshi retcon. The legendary super Saiyan huh...that reminds me of the tournament where Vegeta warns Goku about kake "that is the berserker form" or something he says, I wonder if he knows about it... | ||

+ Show Spoiler + I actually came to like Broly more many years after I first saw it. There’s no denying that it’s a fairly “dumb” movie, but its appeal is that “power trip” element. Maybe if they can recapture that spirit this time around... | ||

the cool thing is, AK specifically says Broly's original story was shitty and that he is going to redo it and make it good. I think it'll end up being really good. | ||

When they first showed the vision of the guy in Beerus' dreams, but didn't actually SHOW who it was, I suspected it would be something out of left field and hoped it would be Broly. + Show Spoiler + Tag Lines btw - Yep, the title of the new movie is Dragon Ball Super: Broly. Tagline: "The greatest enemy, a Saiyan". The Twitter account asks "how will these three Saiyans with different destinies meet?" I am not happy they are going with Broly direction personally, i literally have just finished re watching the dbz films as well as i bought them all in remastered blu ray haha. I hated the second and third instalments of Broly as well awful, first film had some legit story to it but the way they portrayed Vegeta in that film made me so sad and confused. What they will need to do to make this work is really work on Broly's storyline and do more with him about how he trained and honed his skills of power. Did his father do all his training or was someone else involved. Frezia will also be in the film as well as the Frezia Force, so i assume he probably will be joining forces with them or will Broly turn "good".... Rumours are ripe with GoGeta return as well due to the films that US are pumping out before this release in December. I am not caught up with Super yet as i am an avid dub watcher and have not read/watched any sub stuff so i don't know any characters else joining or have "looked into" to say the least. I am happy we get another film though and will support it any way i can to keep the series going, just wish it wasn't Broly! | ||

I felt the old broly kinda fit and didnt fit, like timeline wise he makes no fucken sense, vegeta has super sayain and the rest of the z squad knows about it, so its after androids where he showcased it but then gohan is still a bitch cause he doesnt have any of that ssj2 stuff that he used vs cell, but he does have ssj1 which is wtf. But broly being a super sayian and outclassing the current sayians makes sense if hes the legendary sayian...(whatever that means) i dont expect him to compete out of the blue with some ssj2 sayians or even a gokus ssj3 that would fuck up the story for majin buu, broly would be the most destructive being. Basically, powerlvl wise (when it mattered to some extent) broly needed to be vsing ssj1 sayians but theres no timeline where that makes sense for the dbz story. For the new movie, if broly just fucken turns ssj1 and completes with goku blue and vegeta blue that would be the most disappointing shitshow. | ||

I think we were all just playing it safe for the sake of people who would mind. But the *name* of the movie kinda gives it away. I can't imagine someone managing to not even know the name of the movie until it comes out. There's only so much you can do when the name tells you everything lol | ||

I won't watch trailers though but knowing how they got to this as a movie and why is fine for me :D But i also too echo shock and don't understand how Broly is going to compete with Super Sayian Blue, it is literally like Super Sayian blue is just so much weaker than it looks, so daft. Oh well  | ||

Now, nothing in super (as far as we know) directly leads into this movie (maybe ssj god). But there is one thing that could be related. Mild spoilers of a character that appears in the final Arc of dragon Ball super (putting it in spoilers so pandemona can decide whether to read them or not). + Show Spoiler + There is a character that appears in the final Arc and she is a Saiyan from other universe, and she is basically their version of broly. She has a couple of ssj transformation, one of which looks just like original Broly. And she is as strong as ssj blue. Vegeta warns Goku about it, but he's very vague, so maybe he knows something about it. So right now what we have is a Saiyan with a different kind of transformation that is as strong as ssj blue in other universe, so there is at least a precedent | ||
