I'm fairly sure their design is inspired by plague doctors. One of the guys jumping in the panel when they appear basically wears the classic setup.

I think shooter is supposed to wear a gas mask? But yeah it looks somewhat like a bird.

It was pretty amazing. This last chapter though, The way they ended and the explanation suffices, but it still left a lot to be desired. Not enough action between them. I think Midoriya needs to learn some more martial arts or something. He just shoots around and doesn't really fight.
