Because no matter what her body is she has the mind of an 18 year old girl and mitsuhiko is 6-7 years old. I am almost 100% sure that is not a can of worms any author would ever want to open. who cares about her mind? by all rights shes just as young as he is, and anyway hes already shown flags between the 2 and ayumi seems to like conan so id say the worms are out of the can already Just because she has the body of a child does not make her one. I have seen 10 year olds who like they are 25 but that does not mean they can go buy beer and I have seen 18 year olds who could fit in at a middle school and that does not mean they cant drive. Your age is what it is and she is 18 and he is. As Seeker said Ayumi only likes Conan because she thinks he is actually an elementary school kid and that route is going nowhere and everyone knows it so also why it is sort of a dumb route. realistically though, why would she want to return to normal? (assuming no side effects emerge)
That is the one part I do agree with. She has zero reason to go back, though maybe she will to do a power of friendship transitions ages when it comes to Ayumi, but unless they do that thing that every shoujo manga does where right after basically all conflict is resolved they skip 10 years into the future in order for the couple to get together I can not see your ending actually happening (and even then its weird but it dodges the issue). Incidentally I find it very weird that EVERY shoujo does that and no other genre of manga does typically so it is fairly unlikely but I just put it out there.

it's just incredibly poor characterization to write the children into the romance part. they are all teases.
i don't really see any content in ran's emotional or dramatic storyline, it's incredibly generic and thin and only served as a platform for romantic comedy situations. the actual romantic development in this franchise is mostly about haibara.

lol character progression/development means we are that much closer to the end(we are pretty close, yet really really far).

That is the way they are implying but there could very well be TONS more. We still know none of the members of there research division, we know nothing about what they are researching what there goals are. Honestly for all the episodes and characters we have seen the organization itself is still largely a mystery. There have been some hints and clues here and there but nothing concrete and that is years of possible content in and of itself.
Basically only characters in the organization we have met are those involved in there assassinations and soon to be the number 2 but we also have been told that they do tons of other things and we have barely gotten to see any of it.

Hello, first time posting in this thread, but didn't there used to be a list of "plot significant" episodes in the OP? I'm just asking because my nephew wanted to get into the anime from episode one and I'm not sure if they can make it through all of the filler (up to a certain point, they were actually just as good).
EDIT: Ah, stumbled upon the post that said the wiki had markers for episodes. Thanks.

Looking at the episode listing for the anime and it shows it's about to start a long Black Organization arc so I'm hyped for that. Also can anyone identify this random clip. Might be from a movie I don't remember both Kudo (or maybe it's Kaito Kid?) and Haibara turned into an adult at the same time in this setting.

iirc only time haibara became an adult in the manga is once while escaping Gin so im fairly certain its a movie

There's an ova where Conan gets sick and dreams that they all grew up naturally again. Might be from that

Yes it is that OVA, just watched it. The ending is supposed to be touching, but it's also troubling too. + Show Spoiler +Ran willing to wait 10 years for Kudo and another 10 years when he doesn't show. The anime has been going on for 20 years so if it wasn't a frozen timeline they would have aged. Ran being loyal to someone who essentially doesn't exist anymore is crazy and sad. It's a regular length episode so they don't go very far with the concept of Conan being aged up, but worth watching to see Detective Boys grown up.
