I can't stand these new time "rappers", "mc's", they're all trash and don't deserve any kind of credit, fame or listeners. All they're doing is making society shittier than what it already is with their crap music.

And if this can just be a beef about just pure music and not have it spill into other aspects of their lives (like in the 90's) then I don't see what the problem is. It is just entertainment. And it would show how far we/they have come since those days, wouldn't it? The only problem I have is Lamar ranking himself up there with the best rappers already...it is too soon, he doesn't belong there with them. I'm a muslim on pork/I'm Makaveli's offspring, I'm the king of New York King of the Coast, on one hand, I juggle them both.. Means he is progressive, he is breaking boundaries as part of a new generation. That juggling line was nice(reminded me of Jadakiss on this a bit). Who the fuck y'all thought it's supposed to be?/If Phil Jackson came back, still no coachin' me I'm uncoachable, I'm unsociable.. Means he is wild and uncontrollable, hence why you didn't expect this from him. He's saying even the best coach who ever existed (PJ= 11 titles) wouldn't be able to control him. Decent overall, but more of a buzz-type thing imo.

Out of all the response freestyles to Kendrick's verse on Control I've heard in no particular order are Cassidy, King Los, and Joell Ortiz. I want to hear Pusha T and Lloyd Banks put out a track to this too. But I don't think anyone should consider Kendrick or these response tracks are disses. It's just some rappers/MC's putting something out to show they can spit. It's easy to confuse the competitive nature of a track as a diss. But I guess why I really love Cassidy's track, he's an established battle rapper, and he snapped his freestyle.

I think people read way too much into the words, rappers are always making brash claims. If any other new rapper tried to group themself with Nas, Jay-Z, Eminem and Andre 3000 nobody would take that claim seriously. It just so happens that Kendrick is good enough that some people have to sit back for a minute and think about whether he is on the level of the rappers he says. I've only listen to the Joel Ortiz response but rap fans should be happy that Kendrick is stirring shit up, there haven't been any good rap feuds for years.

Hip hop as a whole needs to evolve, but it's more or less being brought back to the 90's where it's about competition and lyrics, this is still far better than what it's devolved into now. The Run the Jewels EP is a fucking genius piece of art. You can get it here for free - because fuck profit, thats why. Favourite song of the album is this one for me. El-Ps last 8 are ridiculous. + Show Spoiler + The most impressionable minds get molested and informed by manipulating forces Don't fret little man, don't cry They can never take the energy inside you were born with Knowing that, understand you could never be poor You already won the war, you were born rich You can only take the energy you had going back to the realm or the home where your lord is Whoever whatever that lord is couldn't give a fuck if you ever made fortunes Fuck anyone ever trying to run that bum shit Send 'em to the flames where the orcs live Them and the lost minds thinking they're smarter than us don't understand love's importance And we can weaponize that, bring 'em back to the truth where the ashes and dust got formed in
