Also, it seems like they're totally ignoring the spiritual side in order to put in fast-paced action. Now I love this, and it's probably what a lot of people like, but sometimes I just need a break between all the aggression, or else all the action scenes get me wound up and I need each scene to be better than the last, which they mostly have... so I don't know, I would like some past connection with other avatars but that's my only criticism. Ah. I'd rather see her go without using the InstaWin state tho. I really didn't like that bit from the 1st series - would be way cooler is she would make do with just her own skills and strengths. Tarrlok. Loving this guy. Hope there is actually a good motive for his actions tho, rather than just 'Derp evil, Derp want power'.

Also when asked about why Aang was dead so soon the creators have said he was actually 166 instead of just 66 so it seems they've already addressed his death outside the show. I imagine it'll be more Korra accessing the most difficult period of Aang's post Ozai avatar life that directly coorelates to Tarloc and the Equalists in one go, and maybe a conversation with Aang which everyone in the fucking world wants I WANT TO SEE SPIRIT GUIDE AANG GIVE IT TO ME BRIAN AND MIKE IS WEAR TO GOD

She gets depressed then cheered up easily, calm then angry and so forth. It's a little... well, unrealistic. (or maybe its cuz she's a girl) Considering there are bloodbenders around that don't need the moon for support, it may be that time of the month every day for her. In any case, that theory sounds more plausible than all the X is Amon ones. Aside from that, she gets in situations that are aimed at getting her down for insecurities of not being able to bend air and not being good enough as an avatar, so I find the depressed and anger realistic enough.

They also said fairly early on that Air is the toughest element for her because of her mentality; she's someone who wants to approach things head-on and counter (water), block (earth), or straight-up overpower (fire) them, where-as the whole point of Airbending is to dodge and evade, something that she just doesn't believe in. My theory? Tarloc is going to be the villain for Book 1, and Korra will probably be doing some spiritual journeying in this upcoming episode. She is able to escape (probably w/ some help from former Chief Bei Fong) and is forced to team up with Aman to stop Tarloc. The way I see it, Tarloc is probably the largest threat to Aman, as being a Bloodbender - especially one that can bend without a full moon - means he can neutralize any chi blocker (and Aman) before they get close to him. After that happens though, Aman goes to immediately double-cross Korra and either seal her bending or re-capture her. It's only then that she goes Avatar State and is able to "defeat" Aman... at least for now. My friend holds to the theory of Aman being not entirely human, and the more I think about it the more it makes sense.

But yeah, I can see them teaming up to take him down. That'd be interesting. I like that idea. On June 05 2012 19:48 TwoToneTerran wrote: Korra's lack of spirituality is a plot point. Aang went into it like 10 times or less in the entire series. Korra trained under Katara and probably a whole bunch of other people who really know their shit. She shouldnt NEED to be overwpoered to win something. -.-

He's only truly been established as a bad guy last episode. It's too late for that... But yeah, I can see them teaming up to take him down. That'd be interesting. I like that idea. The reason I think that is because he's going to use Korra's "abduction" as a reason to institute even more laws and orders that will segregate the non-benders into one corner of the city. And then, there's going to be an "accident" that wipes out said section of the city, and he'll probably try to do some sort of political and power move to make himself the mayor/ruler of the city.

Something tells me Lin Bei Fong is going to turn out to be a walking lie detector, just like her mother.

That means whoever found him, found him with the glove still on him. The chief is probably in on it, or a simply "all for authority" pawn, but I think Tarrlok probably shocked himself but maybe didn't pass out, else you would have to be right. I mean those gloves pack a wallop, but he could just be lying about having passed out. There is something suspicious about the chief. In the last episode, they made it obvious that the chief was trying to slink away before being confronted by our super master air bender at the police station.
