That is the official statement. There are rumors that its just misdirection though to help distinguish this movie from the garbage that has come out in the last 20 years. Even when buzz about this movie first started a few years back, Scott said the main story and danger to the characters wouldn't involve 'the alien', though it would make an appearance in a new form (spawned from space jockeys) toward the end of the movie.

Wait... pg13? How is that going to work lol, unless the ratings have become so slack that chestbursters aren't even offensive anymore, nor are the phallic facehuggers.. The whole premise of the xenomorph is based around sexual innuendo, there is no way that it can ever fit into a pg13 film. It may not be as gory as saw, but it is certainly more mentally offensive for young developing children than saw..

3 on afterward, trash. dont wanna waste time talking about them all crappy ones. I hope Ridley Scott doesn't disappoint. He's great but it doesn't mean he can't fail. Trailer looked great. Looking forward to it.

As long as there isn't more than 2 seconds of nudity, no more than 2 f-bombs every 10 minutes, and there's no prolonged torture or really graphic extended scenes of gore, well, you can pretty much put anything else you want in a movie these days and get PG-13. Please share! I read all the alien books back in the day but I am not sure if I read this one.. please post link or something! i think he meant no such book exists ![]() earth hive and stuff was the shit for sure though back in the day. the one with "mozart" was actually scary edit: maybe he meant this but that would mean... what the hell when did they start publishing more aliens novels???? http://www.avpgalaxy.net/literature/aliens-novels/ i love you internet.

I had reservations about watching it, thinking it may be kind of hokey since it's over thirty years old, but the sets are excellent and the monsters look great as well. Blu ray does this movie great, if you love the movie and haven't seen it in 1080p give it a go for sure. I wish I knew more movies that were as good as Alien. Stunning. Prometheus has a great trailer, for a 1 minute bit it does the trick. The visuals in Alien were really incredible for their time, I can certainly still enjoy it.

Especially the interiors of the Derelict and the Nostromo, shows how real sets and talent combined can and do in most circumstances match or surpass CGI. I'm looking at you, Lucas and Spielberg. Of course back then they still remembered that too...

It's so true, unfortunately it's becoming somewhat of a lost art -- even if exec producers deemed there to be a demand for it, the expertise itself is fading. CGI makes everything look kind of the same-- look at scifi in the 70s/80s and there is so much more diversity in ambient moods/vibes than there is now-- nowadays individual things may look pretty, and people might be really good at going for realism or whatever but theres something about working with actual physical stuff that contributes its own visual dimension to things-- like a combination of material and imagination-- that CGI lacks. I never watched any of the AvP movies, they always seemed kinda sacriligious to me in a way, don't really intend on watching them either. I really hope this film doesn't shit on the Alien franchise even more-- I have high hopes for it but maybe I'm just being naive cuz of Ridley Scott's involvement.

With each Alien movie having a different director most would think that as a series it would suck or be "all over the place", but somehow all the movies are great and tied together in their own weird way. Really go watch Aliens (Alien 2) as it is truely a masterpiece with so many unforgetable scenes and awesome characters. Even Newt (and I usually hate kids in movies) fits in really well.
