This is the brony compilation.
LOL, that's great. Clearly someone needs to be loved and tolerated more.
There is a short clip from an episode of season 2 that was debuted today featuring discord. Watch if you don't care about spoilers/cant wait for saturday!
I think they just reused the same model with both a male and female version. Someone posted that picture on reddit's /r/mylittlepony and it was responded with pictures of both ponies being shown in the same scene. I'd find the link for you but I can't access reddit at work.

I have to admit that I completely broke down and watched the clip. I'm never one for spoilers, but having the link RIGHT THERE made it just too easy, haha. Anyway... + Show Spoiler +
Am I the only one that is completely thrown off by their design of Discord? I mean I totally appreciate what they were going for with all the jumbled parts thrown together, but putting it all together into...that? I was expecting some kind of pony related character. And, what!? Rainbow dash without wings? What is this madness?

The design that they used was actually found out a few weeks ago (someone saw a creature in a stain glass window in one of the teaser screen shots). So his design didn't surprise me.
Although i really want to know what people think about the character. We don't have much to go by, but we can kind of make assumptions based on what we've seen. He seems kind of playful and mischievous (i guess like a less evil joker), kind of like he's so powerful he has no real regard for others. I was kind of hoping for someone a bit more intimidating, but we still haven't seen enough him to know 100% of how he will act.
I love the voice actor, I bet he'll be fun. Plus, they're gonna be playing a GAME? A dangerous game of skill and wit, bound by the limits of no magic and no wings? Potential for so much fun.
As for his character model... *shrug* seems good to me. I like the way he moves more than anything... also, having an uneven set of arms is a common design choice that usually works out well. Except with Discord, it's an uneven everything.
It's better than the cockatrice and dragon models, so again, seems good to me

I feel as though too many of the internet generation pursue this show for entertainment over other, much more intricate, well-writtten, and better produced forms of media for the sole reason that some other internet idiot has idolized the show. Because 4-chan and mmo-champion have vaunted a girls cartoon series to new heights does not mean that the show passes the rigors of actual critical examination.
I can understand that if this is the show for you, then you're not going to agree with me on this next point, but for those who are reading the reviews and opinions and wondering if this is the show for you, I feel obligated to share my assessment. A viewer has to dig to see any kind of benefit in the story telling of the show. The OP used the adjective "heart-warming". I don't think that fits. Numerous times in every episode I observed, including the recommended episode 7, the ponies sarcastically taunt and 1-up each other with what would be considered bad-manners in an elementary school classroom. They flaunt successes and are 'sore winners' when they achieve an inter-pony victory. They also ridicule and verbally torment companions who are frustrating. Hardly the societal behavior I want exhibited to the burgeoning young people of America.
Furthermore, the vocabulary, sentence structure and writing styles aren't my biggest gripe, its character development and dramatic need. If you were to outline the dramatic narrative of any given episode, there isn't even a consistent protagonist. The show has the story-telling structure of an add rabbit trying to play DDR with his feet and whack-a-mole with his hands at the same time.
It is impossible to achieve true character development with such simplistic and under-developed story archs, and as such, cannot possibly emotionally involve the consumer of the media in the way that more intellectual pursuits (books, feature films, better TV series) can and do.
TL;DR: Its a childrens' show, intentionally dumbed down and spread thin with very little intellectual or emotional stimuli. If you are able to watch this show and think it anything other than a waste of time then you should re-evaluate your view of self as a critical consumer of media, unless of course, you are a 9 yr old girl.
I don't see how any TV show is something more than a waste of time, does House make you a better person? If you enjoy the show watch it and have fun. Most cartoons nowadays can't hold a candle to this show in my opinion.

Hey everyone has their own opinions about everything, some might agree with what your just wrote some might disagree, but hey who am I to judge? Like a famous quote I remember from Mark Twain about individuality "Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to pause and reflect." So to conclude my response, the show MLP friendship is magic is a show that has lit the candle in the dark times of Western Animation shows and can even be viewed as being just a simple "cartoon" in its own sense to other people and that everyone as their own opinions on a matter and nothing can be the same. This is what makes us human "individuality". --- From, a Brony
