EPTFor me, the song was ok (Fluttershy's parts were SOO much better than rainbow's), and I didn't generally like the episode much. Felt like they misused Pinkie, and HOLY SHIT WAY TOO MANY HUMAN POSES. Fluttershy was the best part of the episode for me, for the little time she was there. It was kinda meh compared to the awesomeness that has been season 2 so far. Doesn't help that I don't really like rbds personality without another main pony in the episode to work with it.

+ Show Spoiler + I thought this episode was extremely good, sure everyone knew how it was going to end the minute they introduced the turtle, but I found it quite well executed. This episode with Sisterhooves Social are the only two S2 episodes that didn't have problems with pacing, especially Cutie Pox had me a little worried since it was very predictable, like this episode, and it didn't quite flow right and didn't have enough legitimate forward momentum, but none of those problems made an appearance in Episode 7. Action-packed yet coherent. The song was great too, I'm seeing a lot of people disappointed it wasn't a Pinkie Pie style earworm ditty or a normal verse-chorus-verse song but I think variety is good and showtunes fit this show perfectly. The way they used the song to set up the plot was very nice. Fluttershy's vocal melodies were catchy, the vocal exchange between her and Rainbow Dash was very funny and flowed well with the song ("Otters and seals do not fly"). For those not familiar with the format, it's a mainstay pattern for showtunes http://www.musicals101.com/score.htm#AABA . Also, Fluttershy had a ton of funny moments in this episode which was just what I wanted to see. Edit: new SoGreatAndPowerful song! Nearly as good as his Rarity song. | ||

 , my comp got some serious issues and needs to be repaired, so I sneaked up onto my father's comp to watch the new ep (as well as to post) just now, with the excuse of having to prepare for some exams... confound these ponies, when my comp gets damaged, my biggest concern is not being able to see the new ep + new fancontentanyway onto the episode, it's probably my most favourite one from s2 so far, + Show Spoiler + I love RD's character, which we got a lot of in this episode, also the FS/RD duet was awesome beyond words; then Dashie even getting sensitive for a bit made my heart melt for a few seconds. As predictable as the turtle winning was, tbh I wasn't 100% sure anymore since I didn't expect the ending of ep 5 either :p (although ep 6's ending was very predictable). Also flight of the valkyries and new canon awesome location unlocked? Hell yeah. Also did I hear it wrong from this comp's speakers, or did Pinkie really refer to RD as 'he' after RD claimed that she said whoever would cross the finish line together with her would win? hopefully my comp gets repaired fast, but until then I'll miss you guys also late hb Cane and sad to hear you can't win that Luna plushie now =/ | ||

Edit: forgot the link, it's desertbus.org For those of you who don't know, a lot of The Escapist guys (primarily LoadingReadyRun's crew) are playing the Desert Bus minigame non-stop until the donation-fueled timer runs out, while doing random crazy stuff and having guest interviews. They are currently about 40 hours in with 86+ hours to go. The catch is that The Escapist has one of the largest brony populations percent-wise out there for a mixed community, so ponies pop up regularly in the submission images, challenges, and interviews. Pretty much everyone on here gets asked who their favorite pony is, for example. One of the first events was to draw a desert bus pony and submit it in twenty minutes or less. They also sang Winter Wrap-Up and two people have made dramatic confessions of loving/hating ponies (opposite to their real view) for donations. Heck, the live chat welcomed everyone with "Welcome to Hasbro's My Little Desert Bus: Friendship is Magic... the Gathering" along with a list of pony-pun-filled rules for the first day. This is a good cause with all donations going to Child's Play, so I figured I'd spread the word around some more. | ||
