This sentance was hilarious. Anyways, since I saw the episode a week ago I didn't get to see any previews for next week. Are any out yet? Also, I'm pretty sure we'll get to meet The Tickler soon. And then Lommy has already used the 'yield' line so I think that's a setup for his funny-yet-sad demise... not that his name has even been mentioned yet.
Those are going to be great scenes! More Hot Pie!
Just watched the 2nd episode. Random thoughts.
Rakharo dead?! Why would they do that!?! Possible set up for a fight with Khal Pono?
Not really a fan of what they are doing with the whore and Littlefinger. Littlefinger had so much potential with such great scenes in season 1. Not liking his scenes so far this season. Also think they aren't really staying true to his book character. Hope the whore gets less screen time but I have a feeling she is getting more.
Cute little way of cutting out a lot of Janos Slynt and making it less confusing for the viewers. I think Bronn as head of City Guard will be Tyrions way of protecting and enforcing himself in the show, in the books it was the hill tribes he had with him (as well as Bronn) but the show hasn't done that. Which is fine, I did enjoy the bit with Shagga and Pycelle in the book though.
Thought the Melisandre and Stannis scene was good. Made me realize they don't even need his wife or his daughter in the show. Wish Patchface was in it though.
Gillys son eaten by WHITEWALKER! Craster kills Jon Snow!! (CGI Ghost was sick)

Rakharo was killed off because they wanted to add drama. Honestly, most of Dany's shit is boring in book 2. Bloodriders havnt really been established on the TV show so to a show watcher he means nothing (i'm pretty sure he doesnt even have a name).
As for the hill tribes: are we SURE they aren't in the show? When we first see Tyrion arriving in King's Landing, he's followed by Bronn and a man with a giant 2H axe. I seriously hope they have Shagga around. The way he used them increased my love for Tyrion, and they were somewhat important to the storyline.

Just watched episode 2 of this season, and I have to say I like it a lot more than episode 1. The scenes and the acting felt a lot more well put together this time. And the CGI of Ghost looked real bad ass too. Still, after every episode I feel like it was way too short. We haven't even seen Renly in the first two episodes! Gah!
Its kind of nice to experience the plot again through the show, cause I don't remember much of the details of the books from this point forward. Like, when it revealed the girl Theon had been hitting on was his sister I had a nice lulz. I had forgot all about that. I can remember the big story arcs, but I don't remember how they get from step to step which makes it exciting to watch the show. I remember Dany being stuck in the desert, but I can't remember how she gets out and gets her army going again so I'm in anticipation waiting for that to happen.
Though I do like the excitement of having the tv show re-reveal the plot elements, I'm tempted to go back and reread all the books because I haven't read the fifth yet and I would want to read the first four before again before I immerse myself in it.

I guess I am somewhat cursed with my memory, because I can still recall every single thing.
So I am glad when they make a few changes to the TV-series that aren't in the books, like Jon getting punched out by Craster. It probably won't butterfly out of control, but it was still a nice surprise.

Tyrion had the city watch in the book, i forgot the name of the commander he put in office, but he was loyal to him. I agree with cutting out the new commander, since it would be just another character and would have become unimportant very soon. Tyrion has the hill tribes with him, when he arrives in King's Landing and meets Joffrey you can see Shaga, Timot and the others who appeared in S1 behind him.
Also, i wasnt sure it's Rhakaro, the face wasnt shown and all the dothraki have similar hair. But yeah, Danny in 2nd book is very boring aside from the tower of the warlocks, i can understand if they want to add a bit more drama

It was Rakharo. And he was actually cut because the actor had to leave, not because they wanted to add drama. In the books Doreah dies instead, but since Elyas Gabel had to leave the show, this was probably the best solution. It also gives Dany the opportunity to swear vengeance against one of the new Khal's. In the book she swears vengeance against Mago because he kills one of the slave girls that Dany had protected. I don't really mind changes like this.

As for the episode, I'm disliking what the show adaptation is doing to Littlefinger's character this season. First he instigates a direct confrontation with Cersei in the last episode and now he's a creeper peeping on clients and chastising whores? that was time that could have been much better spent on other characters.

the only reason danys chapters were so painful to read is because they are so disassociated from the rest of the book, at least even at the wall you knew if they went down so did the seven kingdoms. I found the relationship between danys and mormont and barristan to be the only interesting storyline

She is spoiled, stubborn, self-entitled and annoying. She is prideful to a fault (like Viserys was) but thinks she isn't. She says she wants guidance from the people around her yet refuses to listen to anybody when it goes against her opinions. She's ruined pretty much everything she has come near yet thinks she is fit to be queen. When Tywin was chastising Joffrey in ACoK he told him "any man who must say ‘I am the king’ is no true king", yet that's pretty much what Daenerys says every time she opens her mouth. The only reason people are following her to begin with is because of her dragons or heritage, not because her talents, charisma or achievements.

Sometimes I feel like I am the only one who likes Dany, she's in my top 3 favorite characters :D.

I don't see what people find wrong with the way littlefinger is acting, apart from the cersei confrontation it basically fits his character very good: ruthless and only caring about his own position and money.

Sure, they did not change his character, but in the books he was so, so much more subtle, and it took the readers so much longer to figure him out. In the show there's nothing to figure out in the first place, they show him just as he is with no subtlety whatsoever.

I thought Dany's chapters in book 3 were awesome...just as good as any of the other PoV's in the book. Then again the whole book was pretty much amazing

Does anyone have any idea when The Winds of Winter is supposed to come out?
I've just finished "A Dance with Dragons", being under the impression I had another book waiting for me, just to be disappointed by the lack of reading material.

So does anyone know if episode 3 will been on HBO GO a week early again?

It won't.
kafkaesque: Too early to tell, but it would be very optimistic to expect it in any time shorter than two years. Two to four years is more realistic.

2014-2015 is the ETA of the 6th book. There's a chapter out already from it, and GRRM read recently part of a Victarion chapter, and allegedly an Arianna chapter too, however i cant find the latter

That sucks so much. I wish I hadn't read it, now.
I suppose it's my own fault for reading through 4.000 pages in a couple of weeks.
