WTF at the whore on the brothel sweeping cum off her face and the whole Ros thing... Why do they need to try to shock their audience with stupid things when the books themselves bring enough as it is. I can understand showing as Theon womanizer considering his future fate but seriously... some of the scenes are just pointless and even awkward.

To be honest, above all else, she's a loving mother (of course she's a power hungry bitch as well). She didn't know about Geoffreys plans to have Eddard killed, she does all she can to prepare Tommen to be a king and so on. I found it very weird how inapt she is about being the Queen Regent, I had considered her more able. Her attitude towards the crippled Kingslayer is really disappointing as well...

It was simply meant as a view into a slightly more true part of littlefinger as far as I'm concerned. People are focusing too much on the fact that Ros was there, and far too little into the lines Littlefinger drops.

It really shows how good of a writter GRRM is. And regarding the Ros controversy: I honestly don't mind her presence at all. It's only a minor addition, and it give us eyes on the more peasantly part of westeros, instead of always being inside of court following the Lannisters or the Starks or whatever other highborn guys. Littlefinger is a pimp in the book, he owns more than half the brothels in the city, we just never get to see that part of him, so I don't see his Ros interactions as out-of-character. Cersei for instance looks much more out-of-character to me, with her portrayal of a helpless mother that has raised a hell of a moron that she can not control anymore; while in the books the uncontrolable moron is her and Joffrey merely tries to mimic her. I remember Joffrey having a "spank-boy" that Cersei would have spanked for Joffrey wrongs, and that was effectively deterring the kid from doing stupid stuff. Just imagine what HBO's Joffrey reaction would be to such a threat.. He'd probably gut the boy himself. Overall I'm loving S2. It started slow and introductory (as mandatory, given the amount of new characters that show up), but it's already picking up some speed and will be truly awsome in the following episodes.

It is true that they have strayed from the books with Cersei's character, but I actually think that (for the most part) it's a good thing, because she is very 1 dimensional in the books. And I agree that they need to stop saying "oh look how gritty our show is! Sex and titties EVERYWHERE!" Not to mention they can over do it on the violence(at least from last season). It's like they are insecure about it being a fantasy series and being labeled "geeky" so they try to be as vulgar as possible to make up for it.

I always pictured Stannis much older and with a larger stick up his ass. He's almost too understated in the show for my taste. And the actor portraying him does look 10 years too young.

Yet the Stannis actor is much older than the Robert actor. Looks older as well. If anything the Stannis actor is too old by about 5-10 years.

Whenever I see him, I think I'm watching Thomas Jefferson. Because this is the same actor that played Thomas Jefferson in HBO's "John Adams". His demure mannerisms were much more fitting for that role. I like it, he exudes a certain calm, but I'm not sure if he fits the Stannis character.

I think it's more of the awkward way the story is told. In the books we never know what stannis is thinking just what he does as his story for the most part up until book 5 is told through davos. This kind of forced to HBO people to kind of wing it based on what they seem to think he's like based on davos' descriptions. Unless, GRRM told them Stannis is exactly like this and his thought process and unseen actions are exactly x, y and z. Also, i always though the actor is way too old, according to wikipedia he's in his mid 50s. Real Stannis is like 32 IIRC.

In demeanor though, the actor carries the essence of Stannis very well even he's not physically much like him. Renly is a very good fit and 100% as I imagined. about that, amazing how perfectly all the Lannisters fit the descriptions in the book, Myrcella might be an exception, the girl kinda looks like a common Irish little girl not a princess. I also like how the northeners are played mostly by Scottish actors
