We have Cersei who will be slained by Jaime, but who else? Will Lady Stark outlive this war? Are some characters death-proof like Jon Snow and Daenerys or can the unthinkable happen? Anyone come up with a clever foreshadowing that isn't already a popular prediction? Just curious! The prophecy said that Cersei will die to a younger brother, it didn't specify. And we don't even know who was born first do we? And she has to outlive all of her children anyway if the prophecy is to come true. Yea, I think Jon and Daenerys are death proof. GRRM already made us go through so many of their boring and meaningless chapters, it would be insulting to kill them anytime soon. Jaime says he plans to come clean with the whole Tommen/Myrcella thing, so good chance he dies. If Robert Strong wins trail by combat then Cersei will be spared. Still, I kind of like fucked up love stories and I want them both to just die in eachother's arms while they are being stoned or something. No matter what happens, Varys comes out the winner.
not 100% sure but i think i read in the book that cersei came out first, but they said jaime did

How disappointed they'll be when she marries a scheming richboy and spends most of her days insulting Eddard/dreaming of Daario. Ugh I know right :p. They even casted Daario to be more of a pretty boy in the show, rather than more of a rugged badass that he was in the books. The next few seasons with those two will be agonizing. Daario in the books looks like an actual clown, they had to completely change his appearance one way or another.

Im pretty certain now that Coldhands is actually Brandon Stark, aka the Night's King.
I was rereading all the books and came across this in aDwD
no said bran no don't but they could not hear him, no more than his father had. The woman grabbed the captive by the hair, hooked the sickle round his throat and slashed. And through the mist of centuries the broken boy could only watch as the man's feet drummed against the earth... but as his life flowed out of him in a red tide, Brandon Stark could taste the blood.
notice how the perspective shifts from Bran to the dying man in the end of that quote. The man got executed, his throat got slit and coldhands got killed a long time ago according to Leaf, and he never shows his neck or anything above. and already before coldhands had reffered to himself in a similar ambigious fashion when he said " Your monster, Brandon Stark"
|
To me that also seems the most likely Coldhands theory at the moment. I sometimes wonder how many more Bran chapters we are actually going to get in the coming books, considering how much he actually has the potential to witness.

It's fascinating how bran became the potentially highest influence character out of all the perspective characters.. fucking magic.

I firmly believe that Dolorous Edd shall become the most influential character...in comic relief. His sense of humor puts him up with Tyrion/Stannis.

Book Stannis definitely has the best one-liners in the entire series, Dolorous Edd is up there too though.

I always understood that to mean Bran as the roots of trees could taste the blood. I really hope he doesn't introduce the kind of time travel that would be necessary for this interaction. I dunno if everyone around here has read homestuck, but if you have, you know how fast plot lines can get tangled once you introduce time travel.

The messy unexplainable tangle is almost a feature, not really an unintended drawback of timetravel.
The issue with timetravel in a serious plot is that it just feels cheap. You can do anything, create any kind of rule to fit your story and any kind of argument against the laws you created can often be dismissed by saying "time travels doesn't allow that/work like that in this world".

But yeah, homestuck is the shit.

I don't think it's time travel as much as the Children of the Forest not being limited to the present like normal humans are. Maybe time just works differently for them in the sense that they can view things that happened in the past as if it were real time through the heart trees. It doesn't require time travel or the problems it brings with causality if they just don't allow the Children of the Forest to interact directly with what's happening.
Also, I think Bran, near the end of ADWD manages to speak to Ned through a heart tree, but Ned dismisses it as the wind playing tricks on him?

He might be a greenseer and such, but he is still a human. Also, even if he doesn't experience time normally, there is no way that he can have more than one instance of himself at any given time without the kind of time travel that leads to causality problems.

But yeah, homestuck is the shit. Yes, that's kind of what I mean. Homestuck doesn't show the issues with using time travel because it works well in that context. I always had issue with the timeturner or whathever it was called in Harry Potter, for example. It's a mechanic that really just doesn't work that well in a story that isn't developed around it. It basically needs to be the main focus of the writing or it can easily feel cheap.
