I can't wait for the wedding!
Have they introduced the Rains of Castamere yet?
I think I will stop breathing when the "wedding" commences and the Rains start playing.
I'll be watching that thread starting at the end of episode 7, any hint of a spoiler and I'll report. People have the right to be shocked as I was when reading haha.
I saw an optimistic post about how Robb probably has something up his sleeve (''something cool in store for us''), and I almost felt sorry for the guy. But only almost, in the end I still laughed out loud. :D
Dany is the daughter of Aerys II. So if Jon is the son of Rhaegar he would be her nephew.
Right now the other thread is like curling. Bunch of asshats trying to be the guy who gets closest to "guessing" the red wedding without making it obvious that they know what's coming.
"You're so smart and clever who guessed what will happen" will no person say ever. When season 3 is done with I'd love to have a mod go through that stuff and give them some of roberts banhammer.
Delayed bans is a pretty awesome idea, actually. Heck, the mods could even announce that they'll be handing them out, potentially scaring away some of the idiots.
I don't think it is really that impossible for a few non-readers to predict what's going to happen at the red wedding. And there's no guaranteed way to tell who is legitimately hypothesizing what's going to happen, and who already knows what happens. So it would be kind of silly to try and ban people for guessing correctly, if you can't determine if they weren't actually guessing..
Even if you're only a show viewer, its likely you have a few friends that have read the books. And its likely they've been mentioning "the red wedding" since last season. All this talk about the red wedding, and you assume something big is going to happen. Even without the hype around it, its still reasonable to assume something big is going to happen, since the build up to it will last a few episodes, and the wedding will air on the ninth episode, aka the climax episode. So, you know something big is going to happen. You know Walder Frey is dick. You know Robb offended Walder Frey greatly. You know the series is not afraid to kill important characters. I don't think its too big of a leap of logic for show viewers to hypothesize something bad is going to happen to Robb at the wedding.
Another theory: The prophecy regarding Cercei's destiny stated that she would be choked to death by the valonqar, which means brother. Cercei thought that it referred to her brother Tyrion; people have even suspected the twist that it would be Jaime. I think it will be Stannis. The prophecy didn't stipulate that the killer must be HER brother. And if you link that part to the immediate precedent part: ... "Will the king and I have children?" she asked. Oh, aye. Six-and-ten for him, and three for you.", it will make sense that the Frog meant the valonqar as the King's brother- Stannis, who would deliver his justice to Cercei by choking her.

Right, I always forget. Got reminded of that yesterday even. >__<
Was long since I read the books, didn't Rob first take over Casterly Rock and then come back to Catelyn with his new wife? Because I think it made the whole thing seem stupid enough but I felt it gave Catelyn & co more time to negotiate with the Freys.
Now in the show, Robs "plan" just feels ridiculous to even think that it will be fine. Sure there are people in the other thread with their "predictions" but still friends that I know has not read the books are much more expecting that something bad will happen.
I felt the book had a lot less buildup and thus the red wedding was out of the blue for me. Well they have a couple of eps left to make it seem more believable I guess.
Another problem is that the show is, well, a TV show. It has a season, and it has the end of a season. And big things happen at the end of the season. People expect that. So when Robb (whose situation is pretty bleak in the show, everyone knows that) is going to a wedding at that guy's place whose promise he broke at the end of the season.. well, yeah. It doesn't take a genius to figure out that something is going to happen. (Which is why I would've loved for the RW to happen at the start of season 4 instead. Meh.)
So I don't at all fault people for assuming that Robb's fate will not end well. It's entirely reasonable to guess this from just watching the show. And since this is everything-can-happen Game of Thrones, Robb might even die. But when people start to guess how the Lannisters might work with the Frey's to betray Robb, and how Catelyn might die, too, and the Starks altogether will be out of the bigger picture.. yeah, that's stretching it a bit.
Maybe, hopefully the writers are smart enough to throw a red herring at the viewers to distract from the RW. Give Robb some smart, secret plan. Have some pseudo-finale for the season before the RW happens. Just.. something. They shouldn't just throw lots of doubt about Robb's fate at us and then give us the RW straight up.

Robb used a secret path to sneak pass the Golden tooth defeated the second Lannister army of sellswords that were still assembling/training along with Ser Stefford Lannister, the commander of the host, at Oxcross. The rest of the army fell back to Lannisport, but since the northerners didn't have siege equipments, they couldn't take any city. So they just killed the army did some pillaging and went back.

Good point. I think they could have made the whole thing less obvious if they had dealt somewhat with the Frey's earlier and not be like "hey, remember the Frey's from season 1, yeah the ones I gave the finger... lets ask them for help" then people might expect something less severe. But if they make the Frey's seem polite and helpful and happy with Edmune Tully... maybe.
Personally think fans of the show will care and be much more effected by Joffery's wedding and aftermath.

Right, I remember that they didn't actually take over Casterly Rock itself, just bad wording of my part. But thanks for clearing everything else up for me as I had forgotten all the details. Things like that made you root more for Robb.

Such a powerful device to characterise Tywin...
Yeah, they did last season I think. I definitely remember it being discussed as a Lannister song. I just can't place where.

Saw some stills taken from the coming episode, it showed Melisandre with Beric and Gendry being dragged away by two guards, surely they don't try and sacrifice gendry (Would also be wierd to kill him off and he is still alive at end of dance with dragons). I also don't remember Melisandre meeting up with Beric...

Bronn in a tavern before blackwater.
They played it during the credits after the blackwater as well. I didn't even realize what it was at the time
