Just like I was several months ago, I'm stilly nervous about the final scene of the finale. I know they'll do everything in their power to not make it look silly, and they've done a spectacular job so far with other scenes like Baelor's sept, but man I just really hope the dragons don't look at all cheesy or anything like that. Obviously will have to be completely CGI and it will be such a shock and so different from the rest of the show, cgi dragons..I don't know if I've ever seen any that look believable. I hope I'm wrong

GRRM recently blogged about having to write the Blackwater episode:
Kind of fitting that "The Pointy End" airs even as I am working on my season two script, "Blackwater." A much tougher assignment, by the way. All those damned boats...

I've actually really been worried about this for a while as well.
I feel like a lot of people who haven't read the books might not do well with a more imaginative turn.
I know we've had frozen zombies and all, but with the dragons I am worried that the show risks losing the gritty realism that has made it popular. I just don't see how they can consistently do the dragons (which become a very important part of the Danaerys storyline) in a realistic manner.

If the death of Ned pisses people off this badly i wonder if the red wedding is gonna send them into shock.
To me the death of Ned never felt massive. I was suprised that he died as was anyone but it didn't hit me as hard as the red wedding. The death of Ned was just that, Ned died. The red wedding is the absolute end to the entire Stark chances wich at the time were allready bleak.

I have a feeling that episode 10 will end with the eggs just starting to hatch. I doubt we'll actually see any CGI dragons this season.

I hope that they at least put in some hints, in the books the fun of guessing who Jon's parents are comes from the hints, most of which have seemed to suggest R+L=J. If there's no hints in the show then to the show watchers, it will just be a blind guessing game. Which is boring.

I hope I'm wrong Im mostly pumped about how they make the rest of the scene look! In the book you get to know so much about what the characters (Dany in this case) think while theyre doing what they´re doing (Walking into the fire in this case) which they cant tell that easily in the series. Really gonna be a test of Emilia Clarks actingskills!

The battle with Tywins army was described in detail from Tyrions point of view in the book. There Robb sent 10000 soldiers, and it wasn't a complete slaughter. It was more of a close-run thing, especially on Tyrions flank since that was planned to break (Though Tywin didn't warn Tyrion about that). However, Gregor Clegane was there and managed to rout the northmen. Bolton managed to save half the northern army and retreat.

The special effects company said they were working on CGI dragons for episode 10 in an earlier interview.

Pretty good episode. I don't mind them cutting the battle scenes the way they did, it works just as well story wise, and will help keep costs down for future seasons. The final scene was good too. I liked how Ned saw Arya in the crowd and was able to drop a hint at Yoren.
What I didn't like was the Tyrion scenes. They made him look a bit too cowardly the way he wanted to avoid the battle and cutting his battle scene. Tyrion makes a lot of jokes about his courage and fighting skills and all that, but his actions in the books really show he's one of the bravest characters. It occurs to me now that they'll have the entire next season to really develop that, but I'm not sure Tyrion is likeable enough now to keep viewers especially after Ned's death.
I hope this last episode has some good Tyrion scenes. They at least need to have him finish the Tysha story.

This is the thing im scared of since i heard of the making of the TV show. I always have a fighting scene from XENA in my head with those cheap clay monster animations...

Never heard people be that inane, but yeah, people come up with absurdity.
To be fair, Martin gives subtle things about many things. However, I think as a rule is that if a character is implied dead, you should assume they are dead until explicitly said otherwise. As such, as much as it pains me, yes Syrio is dead. Or at least, assumed dead.

Oh, have you read A Feast for Crows yet?
+ Show Spoiler +It's the main reason why he killed his father

I tought I remember that in the books Tyrion had to fuck her again after all the guards putting his thing in this used hole and his father payed a golden dragon for him. Found that pretty disturbing in the books tbh
then finding out that she was infact not a whore.... and your father fucking shea... as far as fucked up father son relationships go, this must be pretty high up there.
