Wow way to generalize, not every person from the south is religious and not every religious person is anti-gay. There really aren't too many people out there who are "hardcore anti-gay" whatever your definition of that is. There may still be misguided people who don't want them to get married but the "God hates fags" type of people are few and far between. Plus I imagine in a zombie apocalypse most of the characters (obviously the priest is an exception) have given up on God or religion at that point, which is the main reason most people hold prejudices against gays. | ||

It's not that you ought to expect everyone to be vehemently homophobic, but if your survival is dependent on very few people (a point which has been made multiple times in that very episode), you would be way more careful with things that might potentially piss off other people (whether warranted or not).
