Discussing the show and past episodes is fine. Do not put things that have happened in the TV series in spoilers. However, don't spoil things from the books that may happen in future episodes. Put book spoilers in spoiler tags with a CLEAR WARNING that it is from the book. |

I wonder how Daryl will get out of his situation. I don't think he can die since he's a crowd favorite, and he won't be held prisoner either. Can Rick's handful of guys take on the whole town a second time? Maybe with Tyreese's help, who conveniently brought along some cannon fodder?
I think Daryl and Merle will be "interrogated" to find out where they are held up (remember most people don't know they captured some of the prisoners, so it'd be weird if they already knew where they were). From there they'll probably have a reunion, and decide to work together like maggie and glen to escape.

Surely sending off a little boy with a gun isn't exactly the smartest thing to do? Thats what made the scene between Carl and Hershell. The smart/"right"/safe thing to do would have been to stay locked up where you know your safe so Hershell tells him he's not going. But Carl already learned from his father its the "right" or "good" thing to do to go investigate, Hershell knows this so he doesn't put up a fight. Its what the show is all about, what is the "right" thing to do. But that wasn't the right thing to do. It's like sending an untrained member of your group into the woods at night. Alone. There's a high chance of him dying and practically no gain. It was a bloody stupid thing to do. Exactly! Is it or isn't it the "right" thing to do? From a survival standpoint its a horrible decision, but even in this fucked up world where human's basic instincts for survival has kicked in you still have to make tough decisions on what is the "right" thing to do; like Dale says, its what seperates us (humans) from animals. I think because Rick didn't see how humanity was lost he still feels the need to do the "right" thing, ie going back for Merle, looking for Sophia, rescuing Glen and Maggie, etc. Even though many decisions he has made were not the "right" decision they were the "right" decision, if you catch my drift.

Haven't read the comics but I am beginning to like Tyreese already. Also the part where Michonne finds penny but thinks she is just a harmless little girl tied up despite the "grrargnsbsfhlh" sounds is hilarious

So expect some retarded escape in the future. Andrea is the only way for Daryl escaping at this point. But hoping for Andrea to do something is like dancing the kumbaya to make it rain I doubt it. She's still attached to the governor even after seeing his bag of crazy. Rick and company never completely left the scene as far as we know (though they are outside the walls), I imagine having a big gathering would make it easier to sneak back in and throw some smoke/flash grenades. Kind of risky in a big crowd, but I'm not really seeing an alternative. I believe Rick will be back for Daryl, he is loyal to his group. We will see smoke bombs everywhere where the governor is judging Daryl and Merle as Rick come in and rescue them, just dont know what will Andrea do but I think she will go with them. ps: finally Tyreese arrives with his hammer, sad that the "only 1 black guy can be in the survivor cast" rule still prevails. With that being said... YOU BETTER KILL ALL THE BLACK GUYS YOU FIND, TYREESE!!!!

the token black guy torch has been passed once again! And this time, Tyrees will cary it!

Now the real question....
Is there a token black girl torch as well?

Tyrees, our new token black man, use to be a primary soldier for the Barksdale crew before the zombie outbreak occurred. In his younger years he was a hardened criminal and murderer involved in the drug trade, and could kill a man without blinking an eye. But after going to prison he became a new man dedicated to getting kids off the streets and into his boxing gym as an attempt to prevent them from leading the same felonious lifestyle that he did. Ever since the outbreak he has relied on his previous weapons experience and street smarts that he acquired in the ghettos of Baltimore to keep his wife and group alive.

Great episode, definitely enjoyed it all the way through. I could nitpick here or there but overall I just really enjoyed the plot writing for this one. I think a new group coming into the prison is a great dynamic to shake things up and add some interesting potential. It looks like it introduces Tyreese from the comics which is what everyone is talking about? So if he's a cool character then I'm all for that. Everything about the prison has just been great, and exactly what I was hoping for/expecting. The prison is such a dynamic and rich setingt compared to everywhere they've been before. It's way better than the farm in so many ways.
As for the entire engagement, Andrew naturally doesn't realize who is attacking, and I thought that Daryl would get away, only leaving the token black guy as evidence. This would let the gov spin it like he was, as a terror attack. But pairing Daryl and Merle together... can't say I saw that. It circumvents so many possibilities where they each try to convert each other over to their own side. Can't wait to see where that goes. Good call previously about the gov betraying Merle because of the lie regarding Michonne. I was hoping Andrea would begin to 'see the light' after seeing his secret room.
Have to say that Andrew Lincoln is my favorite of the whole show. Daryl is great, but I can't help but love what a strong leader Rick is. He looked like a badass with his semi-auto rifle and is always strong, usually composed (except for the phone calls, and seeing Shane!), always the rational one who does whatever it takes to lead. He's the kind of natural leader I would envision and want to lead my survival group. They do a great job with his struggles and weakness though. What a great character. Can't wait for Feb!

i was thinking about the part int he trailer where Carl tells rick that he should stop leading. If seems that the longer Rick leads the more he has to do the real gritty things, and its changing him. He is becoming less of the Rick he was and more towards the likes of Shane, Merle, and Daryl.

lmao I can't help thinking this as well >_>
Morgan ---> T-Dog ---> Inmate who wasn't around long enough for you to learn his name --> Tyrees

Didnt Rick clear out most of the hallways when he went on that rampage?

Unlike T-Dog and Oscar(inmate), Tyreese has the benefit of plot armor. They wouldn't hype up this badass zombie punching mofo only to have him killed off by some random zombie or Woodbury goon when February comes. Besides, Chad Coleman's an established actor, I don't think his agent would have him do 3-4 episodes only to be killed off like Oscar.
As for Morgan, he might still be alive. If Morgan comes in, then Tyreese is screwed.
Edit My favorite kill from last night + Show Spoiler +

ahh this good ol' thread, always bitching about pointless things and people moaning they watch it at 2x speed because it sucks. At least you cleared up the fact i thought tyreese was morgan, im wrong apparently, i was wondering where the kid got off too.
The black guy torch is pretty tardfucked, it didnt occur to me this time, i thought it when t-dog died and the inmate joined, i only realised the inmate died as soon as tyreese turned up while reading this thread lol.
Also, someone posted earlier that their isnt enough suspense and "movie horror" im sorry, but i was extremely uncomfortable watching rick and the phone call scene, it was scary imo, watching him realise and all that shebang (granted i was alone in a giant house at 3am but meh.) I really did feel uncomfortable watching that.
Another thing i didnt notice while watching was that merle had lied about michonne being dead, kinda brought to light why merle was framed lol.
Looking forward to next season.

i find it weird that andrea now takes the governers side over michonnes after michonne saved her and babied her for so long. This is after the governer pretty much told her to go away and let the men handle it when she was qualified to help.
