Discussing the show and past episodes is fine. Do not put things that have happened in the TV series in spoilers. However, don't spoil things from the books that may happen in future episodes. Put book spoilers in spoiler tags with a CLEAR WARNING that it is from the book. |

Some of it seemed rather, well forced. Scratch that, a lot of it seemed forced. Like why the walkers were migrating in the first place (GET TO THE CHOPPAHH!)? How about the zombies casually limping towards Hershel in such a convenient manner that he gets to stay alive (forgot how to run huh)? Next the death of Hershel's daughter, whats her name Patricia, as all of a sudden a ninja zombie jumps her at the most convenient time, and BAM, we have some drama (oh wait you were laughing at that? :/). Also, why is Laurie upset that Shane got killed by Rick based on her past behavior?? I'm reeaally trying to just sit and enjoy this show without over-analyzing, but jesus they're making it hard for me. Sorry that was a little harsher than I normally try to be Also, lol Finally at the guy mad about the tires, even for consistency, you only notice these things if you nitpick about the episode most of the time. I'd rather they be not consistent and use the right tires than have Daryl slip and injure himself? Here's a bunch of Matrix mistakes that seem to be much worse than replacing tires and from a major producer.
Oh no I wasn't mad about the tires, I noticed the tires because the other guy was talking about the new character's blade not being the right way up. Believe me, I will be the first to defend the show, I love it and I think the people that are "nitpicking" it need to calm down.

Way too many haters and whiners in here. God it's such a downer reading your stuff. I'm out of this thread.
Yeah I think that I'm with you on this one, come into this thread to talk about the show, predict what is going to happen next and how cool and awesome the show is. But this thread is actually just a bunch of people whining about what a bad show it is (which is totally isn't) how many inconsistencies there are, and what zombies are "suppose" to do...

After watching all episodes and not having the patience to wait for the fall I started reading the comics and boy are they refreshing. Characters are so much different, the pace is better.. well everything is better really. I know this isn't new - I started reading the comics long ago but they never got me interested (I guess comparing to the first few episodes of season 1 the comics didnt have much effect) until now. Comparing the comics to season 2 of walking dead is pretty funny. They fucked up reeaaally bad with the production. Let's hope for a better season 3... and now I know what's going to happen - but in a shittier version.

did you guys not see him loading it...they were shooting blanks....why are people trying to nit pick every little detail. He loaded the thing..you saw him doing it... they kept coming back to him..I mean you want to see the guy reload shoot reload shoot... for 2 minutes straight...instead of jumping around to whats happening to everyone else...
I honestly wonder if they reused footage of the zombies advancing up to the house and him shooting...but thats just me...wouldn't surprise me either way..but it did show him loading..just like andrea...and others... Daryl was out and they were close to the barbwire...

I'm really not sure how I feel about the way they're painting Rick towards the end. The entire group is starting to see him in a very negative light, which is understandable to a certain extent. He's become a cold man, but that's what leadership requires in a situation like that.
I feel like the group is angry because he's taking complete control and tells them straight up "this is no longer a democracy." But really, isn't that what they wanted? They've been seeing him as their leader for the entire show, trying to force all the burden and responsibility of tough decision making on him. But now that they're cold and scared, they're starting to turn against him.
I hope that we see some redemption for Rick in the eyes of the group. Hopefully they will see that he is fundamentally a good person, but he has to be a leader and that requires doing what is best for people whether they like it or not.

The fuck no body asked about that guy who died in the trailer rofl
I guess even people in the show forgot about him...
I cant really blame rick for acting like that. Half of the group is fucking retarded and constantly bitching about his decisions.
Lori makes me want to stop watching the show. She is so unbelievable as a character, she tells rick to kill shane and then she gets all pissed off?. If rick had just walked away without carl randomly showing up they would still be safe on the farm and the horde would have just kept walking. Maybe zombie shane would show up and they could just quietly dispatch of him.
Also How does carl manage to sneak away.... They didnt have someone watching each door? Lori doesnt keep carl by her side after almost dying for the 10000000000th time? The fuck is she doing? Some guy is on the loose and she lets her kid get away so fucking stupid. Lori is the worst mother in the universe and carl does the exact same amount of stupid shit as his mom. Apple doesnt fall far from the tree i guess...

so basically the writers are just turning rick into shane v2.0 minus the hair shaving crazy.
i just don't get the whole barn shoot 'em up scene at all. herschel at least had a reason to stay (at least until rick convinced him that he had to gtfo) to defend his farm. everyone else just felt like playing grand theft auto on the farm? isn't their goal to escape?
michonne might be the one character needed to badass up this show and de-pussify some of the characters... looking forward to it.

I wish more characters would have died. They killed the two most obvious characters and considering the situation I expected higher casualties. The guy in the trailer died like a chump. From what I remember he had a bunch of zombies slamming on the front window and he casually stands up and then its 'oh shit that door is open.' Daryl continues to be awesome, "today is as good as any (in regards to dying)."

I can understand the logic of them running off of bare minimum energy, and sure, that could last for 1-2 years, but honestly, it's unrealistic to run any longer than that, you simply need an energy source to survive.
Newsflash - Zombies are already dead. They're kept "alive" by a virus, which is in their brain. Hence, once you destroy the brain, you destroy the virus and thus "kill" the zombie. Just think of them as puppets.

Yeah but the whole sequence around his death was stupid. Rick and Carl jumps onto the RV and instead of flooring it he gets up his seat and a bunch of zombies grab him and eat him. In fact, it seems like the Greene family has a knack for dying under the dumbest circumstances. Patricia was snatched by a leaping zombie that seemed to have the reflex of a Jamaican sprinter.

The explanation from the writers is that Lori is most of all disgusted with herself. She knows now that she played a role in Shane dying, that she has been the reason that there was conflict between Rick and Shane and that she is responsible for Carl getting 'colder'.
It wasn't acted very well though. I agree with that. But this way it at least makes a bit of sense.

I saw that too last night but that's all speculation when it comes to future episodes (granted the speculation was pretty rational).
It's not relevant anyways, people are already complaining it doesn't make any sense when it hasn't even been properly introduced. People will stoop unbelievably low if it finds something for them to nit pick about, it's a joke.

Interesting that puts it in much better perspective. Though yeah I find her acting throughout the entire first 2 seasons horrendous.

I wish you would quote the people you're talking about because there are different opinions on why people might have a problem with a character like Michonne.

I think you're one of them actually.
If you are one of the few who is complaining about how stupid it is that zombies could ever possibly be pacified, then that was directed at you. If that wasn't your complaint, then it wasn't directed at you. The specifics I'm referring to are even in the nestled quotes that you should check if you're iffy on the context of a particular post.
It makes no sense to complain about that when it hasn't even been properly introduced and there's at least one perfectly plausible explanation for it (that I and others, including the after-talk-show guests have already pointed out, regarding animalistic instincts towards habituation of common experiences).
