Discussing the show and past episodes is fine. Do not put things that have happened in the TV series in spoilers. However, don't spoil things from the books that may happen in future episodes. Put book spoilers in spoiler tags with a CLEAR WARNING that it is from the book. |
good.
dale ruined the entire episode with his stupid whining... they have to kill the kid. otherwise the kid could escape and that means they're all dead.
i wish the kid would stop blubbing as well. surely it would be more distressing to be left to the zombies by friends than getting beaten up and executed by strangers... the kid is obviously a dumb character and i don't think he'll bring anything to the show.
and what a little shit carl is turning out to be... lori's son for sure.

One thing I loved about the episode was when they showed Daryl for a brief second sharpening his knife as if he was going to kill the kid him self when Dale got attacked.

Which was talked about on Talking Dead.
the zombie ate a cow, so he was fighting with desperate dan strength.

Too many contradictions in this show for me to enjoy it anymore really.
I dont care about the drama, lack of zombies etc. but it need to be somewhat "real" for what it is.
Like the zombie lets carl go, then turns superman for dale.
Huge fight w/ rick and shane. Smashed window lures zombies.
I could go on, there are hundreds more.

Fuck! I always liked Dale and his persistance to get the group on the right track this episode made me wonder if he wasn't my new favourite character. Loosing dale makes the group less diverse since he was one of the few who still held on to decent moral values. I'm so sad now
Edit: And concerning the zombie getting stronger discussion – who knows how long since the zombie had eaten before munching on that cow. Maybe a fresh intake of carbohydrates made him regain some of that lost strength.

I just fucking hate child actors. Like seriously, I can admit that kids are stupid. But you don't go out into a forest alone and then, when you see a zombie, you start throwing rocks at it instead of running away from it, like wtf? Seriously that kid seems like he has an insanely low IQ and I just prayed that he would die by that zombie (or at least get infected). But noo of course not, he is still alive and cries like a little bitch when he realize that it wasn't so smart to leave a zombie alive who sees in which direction he runs away, which then leads to the death of Dale.
Maybe this show will become better when that kid finally dies. I am so frustrated at that kid right now that I finally think I know what to put in my Quotation box.

When did Carl become one of the most threatening antagonists of the show? The stupidity of that kid, being shot once already and his friend being turned. One might think those events to be humbling. I'd like to beg forgiveness of my parents if I ever was that stupid...
Oh and that was one sneaky walker.

You say you hate child actors somehow implying the actor himself decided how to act? No offense but I hate people who don't know the difference between actor and character. I'm not saying the guy playing carl is a good actor but he doesn't write his own script

I anticipated that Dale would end up dead after he said that, well, he'd rather be dead than live in the current world. He so vehemently disagreed with what was going to happen that there really wasn't a way the character could realistically stay in the group.
It was really disappointing that he got killed by a random zombie, though. I hate totally convenient accidents like that, since they always come off as lazy writing. Why on earth couldn't they just have him kill himself after he realizes that he's living in a world he does not want to live in any more? Or why didn't he just leave the group? There's so many things they could have done to get rid of the character that would not involve making up random zombie attacks. Meh.
Heck, they could've done a much better job of the random zombie attack, even. Just imagine Dale fighting the zombie off (like every other character always manages to fight single zombies off), but he ends up being bitten. Realizing his fate, he convinces the group to kill him (or kills himself).. That would've been much more dramatic and emotional, IMHO.

The zombie probably got weak sitting in the mud and when he ate some of the cow he got strong.
Also - This group of survivors are seriously screwed without dale, they have no idea how screwed they are. they have NOBODY to say " HEY... do you think this is a bad idea?"
|
Well without Dale maybe the plot will move faster because they dont have to reconsider everything a second time.
|
Had to endure the worst acting in 2 seasons thanks to Carl this episode, some of his line deliveries were Gran Torino bad.
At least we got to see T-dog this ep, maybe next one he'll even get a line!
|
I really hope that Carl dies in the next episode. Too bad it had to be Dale : (

Dale can't just leave the group, he knows that his chances are living by himself much lower, at least he would try to convince someone leaving with him but i doubt any of the characters would go for it. He can't kill himself because his character is not man enough to make sharp and hard decisions like that, his humanity is making him weak and vulnurable for his survival, just like Hershel realized it while he is considering zombies as just "sick humans" which brings terrible amount of danger.
Something should have caused his death cuz he was unhappy already, fast zombie attack eased his troubles of leaving this world somehow, he just left the world he doesn't want to live anymore because deep down he knew that they are not a civilization anymore, they are just a gang and they are on the run. He just couldn't admit it to himself, didn't want to.
But gotta admit random zombie attack was weak writing, they could have make him gone by many different ways which could open new character development chances or moral questioning about stuff.

YES YES YES! FINALLY SOMEONE FUCKING DIES WHEN THEY WALK AROUND BY THEMSELFS LIKE NOTHING CAN TOUCH THEM!
Jesus christ, how fucking long should it take for the group to get that into their heads? Everytime someone is walking away into the woods alone or anywhere alone when it's dark outside is so cringe worthy.
|
Jesus, WHY DALE? Carl, Lori, Andrea, Shane...they ALL need to die. Not Dale.
|
For a moment when I first saw the cow, I thought that the virus had now spread into animals or something. Then the walker came. Kind of a dumb episode.
|
:/
I'm starting to have second thoughts about this show. It feels like it's flailing wildly in the dark sometimes, hitting dead on sometimes, and whiffing a lot, and I'm beginning to wonder if I should keep watching it or just walk away. Maybe it's because I feel they're trying too hard to manufacture drama, and not letting things happen, but I dunno...

Pretty excited to see Daryl take over the group.
Rick has too much crap holding him back. Shane is still unstable. Daryl has no one to worry about other than the whole group. No personal affairs, and he is the most able-bodied person to survive on his own in the group.
Good riddance to Dale. There is no room for compassion in this world. Honestly, I think Dale's lack of experience being out there like Shane, Rick, and Daryl have been have made him think that the world is still somehow civilized. I doubt he ever truly realized that other people are just as dangerous as zombies.
