I don't get why they make the characters do some dumb shit. I would understand if it they were in the heat of battle and adrenaline is pumping.... Do the writers not know of a way to make a zombie story work without the characters being reduced to an IQ of 68?

Discussing the show and past episodes is fine. Do not put things that have happened in the TV series in spoilers. However, don't spoil things from the books that may happen in future episodes. Put book spoilers in spoiler tags with a CLEAR WARNING that it is from the book.

Survival of the fittest. Dales acting during the deliberation scene was absolutely fantastic. Probably the best acting of the show so far, except from maybe Rick or Shane. Someone said it was telling that Shane wasn't the one who shot Dale. But they got it backwards. It's telling because if Shane were the one to kill him it could have been out of malice, it could have been used against him later. I think the truly telling part was that Rick lost his nerve twice. He couldn't shoot Dale OR the kid they had tied up. He can't make decisions when there's conflict, when someone might think less of him for it. He can only make them in the heat of the moment (the two men in the bar). I think it's pretty damn obvious now that Daryl is the one who should be leading everyone. He can think about survival without letting things like group conflict getting in the way. He has the will to do the right thing to the end (search for sophia) and put Dale out of his misery. And he doest have all this other extra baggage weighing him down, like caring for a family, or wondering if some other mans child is his own.

Too bad that's smarter than all of the charactesr combined. I also like the idea of Daryll leading, but don't want it to happen. These writers are'nt the most creative, and I fear that doing htat would make Daryll suck.

I mean, it was still alive. So say the zombie used its stealth powers to catch the cow off guard... WHY DID IT STOP EATING IT? The zombie would not kill the cow just becuase. It would kill it so it could eat it. Why then was it off doing whatever the fuck behind Dale? I dont evne know why I'm trying to rationalize this. I actually liked the episode, except for Carl being a bit retarded. Really? It's a cow dude. They don't give a shit about their surroundings. Why do you think cow-tipping exists? Because they simply don't give a fuck that's why. Furthermore, it's a fucken cow. Why do you care how it died? Though I hate the amount of ninja zombies in the series. As soon as he saw the cow I'm like: "Fuck sakes a zombie is going to appear behind him now". Really wish the writers were more creative. On March 05 2012 15:56 Crazyeyes wrote: I think it's mostly becuase Dale wasn't being aggressive. He approached Shane somewhat normally. I'm curious how you all felt about the moral situation here. I don't think anyone would argue weather or not it is right to kill the guy (obviously murder is bad), the point was that setting him free might be a danger that could potentially lave them all dead. Who's side would you all be on? I figure that they shoudl have all at least tlaked to the guy and such. But I coudl be missing out on key info as I missed last week's episode, lol. Agreed. While I don't think Shane liked Dale at all, he did consider him a member of the group. The only reason he was aggressive with Dale before was because he wasn't too comfortable with his decision to begin with, and Dale was being aggressive. In order to re-affirm that what he did was correct, Shane lashed out against Dale when confronted. As for the moral dilemma, I'm not really sure. I would have talk to him a lot more. Honestly they pretty much ignored him right up until they decided to kill him. The small interrogation doesn't really count since you can't really trust info you get from beating someone up. They'll just say whatever to get you to stop.

Lori's crash was terribly stupid, but this takes the cake I'd say. Sure the Cow could maybe see or smell the zombie, but like someone said cows are cows, I doubt it would run from a zombie. The bigger question is how the heck did Dale not hear, smell, or see the zombie, and how did the zombie get behind Dale, and why wasn't the zombie eating the cow? It's just ridiculous in so many ways. Surprises and tragedy makes for great drama/plot, but when you make the events THIS ridiculous it looses so much of it's effect. Put a scene like this in a comedy, not something serious.

This show makes total clear from the start, that they don't care for logic in the story, in the characters or in single scenes. At the beginning i was kind of septic but if you jump fastforward and look total like 3-7 min of each episode you don't miss any storyline and have the full action. Im not kidding, if you only watch -5 min per episode the show is entertaining. You can see on the background when its action, storyline and story independent drama. On most bad written shows its like this. In this case: indoor (savehouse/ camp ...) = drama 2 char outside alone= storyline chars outside at not open field = action

So I ended up breaking my own promise about not watching the shower anymore until I read about... + Show Spoiler + That Dale bitch fucking died. When I read that; I was so happy, I had to see it for myself. I hate him, the character and the actor. Next up; I hope Lori gets killed and Rick's kid.

Although they probably did the right thing not killing the kid, you can tell something isn't right with him and he's going to fuck them over eventually. Hopefully something big happens in the finale. I'm thinking it will.

Gosh I'm glad he's gone. As for the actor; No one wishes for someone to lose their job but that's kinda how it goes with acting in the first place. Having the opportunity to have new roles. I hope he'll find a great job next even though I think he's a mediocre actor at best.

Edit: I really want to emphasize how good of an Actor the guy who played Dale is. Watching the show I felt like I really saw someone genuinely concerned and trying to prove a point to save someones life. When he was laying there dying it looked so real and convincing, I really have to give huge props to Dale he is a fantastic actor and if he ended up on another tv series I would watch it.
