loved the last episode. especially cause i can easily empathize with stans cynical view.
He won’t have long to do so. A week after they leave New York around March 28, the pair hurtles into the 15th season of South Park, part of a new pact with Comedy Central that keeps the show on the air through 2013 and is said to be even richer than their previous $75 million deal. They’ll have just one week to create each episode, with no time to prep.
And yet its success comes at a price: When they return to Los Angeles, Parker and Stone will have just two months to produce a batch of seven new episodes, followed by seven more after a brief hiatus. Without their usual two weeks of prep before the season begins — and without their habitual five-day writers retreat — they’ll be scribbling ideas on Thursdays and working nonstop till the early hours of the following Wednesday morning, the very day each episode airs, when it is finally locked.

All good things must come to an end. Otherwise, we'll end up seeing shitty episodes and getting irritated by how terrible the show can potentially be. Just ask Spongebob and the Simpsons's new episodes.

the message, background and reasons for the episode was great and all, i think we all know this feeling with music/movies ect.
but i would be lying if i said i enjoyed this episode, didn't find it funny AT all, but it did help to know about the situation with trey/matt

I thought I was going to cry or something in the last episode. It was so weird. Seriously one of the smartest and greatest episodes of all time despite it being so depressing.

I'm ok with South Park ending, I mean, at this point South Park is more of a crutch to Matt and Trey since they are going no where and it inevitably get stale over time.

well they are probably going to sweep the Tony awards with their musical so its definitely not a crutch but i agree that they are finding it harder to come up with fresh material for SP
with that being said though, they said on the daily show that they are not planning on ending the show anytime soon. i still look forward to new great episodes because Matt and Trey are geniuses

Did anyone else catch Matt and Trey on Daily show yesterday. They addressed the episode briefly, they said they still love doing South Park and it's still coming back. Was funny because people were asking them if they're OK and asking if the shows coming back, interesting episode seeing how they addressed it.

I just re-watched episode 7 and it made me so sad. Everything seems like shit to me too .

Whatever happens I hope they don't pull a Rugrats and have them as teenagers when Octobers comes around.

I'm dumbstruck by how touching that episode was. Tv rarely tugs at my emotions like that, and I never thought I'd be saying that about South Park. For all the things this show is, hilarious, crude, a cultural icon, I never really thought about it in this light. It was almost depressing though.
It made me realize that I'm far more emotionally invested in these characters than, for instance, any of the Simpsons characters, or The Simpsons itself. It's weird. When the Simpsons' quality peaked I just wanted it to die gracefully. Knowing that this might be the last South Park season is choking me up a little though, and I irrationally want it to stay on the air even knowing that the quality will eventually decline.
Still though, maybe this isn't a piece of self-reflection indicating the impending end of the show, but rather a one off commentary on the loud minority of cynical internet commentors constantly trashing every new episode and panning the show for not being as good now as it was back then. My heart says the latter, my head says the former. =/

Their current contract ends with the end of season 15, so it'll end early into 2012. So yes this could possibly be the end of the show but i doubt it and i havn't seen any reason for them not to renew

Gonna bump this thread because on Wednesday, Oct. 5th a new episode will be coming out. http://www.southparkstudios.com/ you can find all the information about any episode there.

They were on 60 minutes and from what I recall
spoiler about Stan's parents
+ Show Spoiler +They stay seperated and Stan is really happy about it which is supposed to be a funny twist since kids dont want their parents to get divorced. Then they get back together and Stan is bummed out.

NEW YORK, October 3, 2011 Cartman thinks he has Aspergers Syndrome in an all-new episode of "South Park" titled, "Ass Burgers," premiering on Wednesday, October 5 at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT on Comedy Central.
Cartman finds a unique way of coping with Asperger's Syndrome. Even Kyle and Kenny are on board. Meanwhile, Stan can't seem to get his life back to normal no matter what he tries. Will anything ever be the same in South Park again?
