Officially dubbed as the "Japan Pop Culture Concert", but yeah, it was part of the Cherry Blossom festivities. It was cool in a sense because there was like Japanese media people there interviewing white people. Plus the performance was decent. Out of the 16 AKB members that came I only knew TakaMina (Minami Takahashi) and Minami Minegishi. Tickets were free, although if they were selling tickets they could fill up a good portion of the Verizon Center.
And yeah wish I could take pics but the rules for concerts like that... oh well. I went with my gf, and we both enjoyed it. Shit and why not go, cuz any J/K/C-Pop concert is rare to have in Wash. DC.
Hello good people of JMD, anyone of you has a working stream link for Music Station ? That would be much appreciated because KARA are on that show right now wearing the superb white Speed Up costume for once. + Show Spoiler [White costume glory] +
“I want to make the plans. I want to sing my favorite ‘Hello! Project’ songs, and I want to answer questions from the fans.”

In the mean time maybe you guys can tell me why Music Station have a guy who looks like he's dying as an MC ?

Senior with sunglasses with young female as host. Feels like he's perving behind those sunglasses.

I heard it was a disaster compared to when Berryz and especially Musume have visited US. I don't understand why AKB even bother going to US if they are not gonna give a decent show. I guess they didn't care much when they didn't even send a decent lineup, but it still doesn't make sense to me. How many people were at this event you attended? 500? It just screams fail and not even worthy to be called promotion for the group.

well...
-everyone in the akb48 fandom loved it (so, if you're used to lipsynching and tired dances that never vary, etc. you would like it) -venue was sold out within two days for both performances. and it was free. -it was a "repayment" to the US for helping with the tsunami, and AKB48 (the organization) took a very strong leadership role for tsunami relief, etc. so to some extent it wasn't for promotional reasons
some bottom-tier girl announced her graduation from nmb48. normally no one would care but she released a g+ post essentially saying she was shafted and it even drew response from akimoto, the producer. pretty interesting read:

Yeah basically what kainzero said above me lol. For a "free" concert you couldn't ask for much more, and TakaMina, Minami Minegishi, and Ayaka Umeda isn't the worst when it comes to the most popular top 3 members of the group.
Im a big fan of J-rock and J-rap, seeing as I like meaning and depth to my music. Therefore I dislike Kpop and hate Jpop.
Here`s probably one of the deepest Japanese songs I have heard. Although for someone who doesn`t understand the lyrics it could be mistaken for some trashy emo sort of thing- ww
