Also Nomak, DJ Okawari, etc. More of this, stat! Edit: Having problems finding downloads for Otokaze albums/singles Edit2: I spent a while snooping around, I assume this is the artist who put that out http://otokaze.yu-yake.com/ There seems to be a bunch of Otokazes out there lol.

1. Did Kimi No Shiranai Monogatari (Bakemonogatari ED) ever hit Oricon? Cuz I get irritated when I hear ClariS suddenly at oricon.. 2. Are there any other Japanese Music Charts available? Thanks.

I've recently gotten really into J-Rock. I really dig bands like Hanumaan, the cabs, STRAIGHTENER, and Cinema Staff. I'm wondering if there are any english speaking communities that anyone here knows of/is a part of that discuss this stuff, give recommendations, share files, etc...I want to/am learning Japanese but I am beyond a beginner and I can't navigate Japanese websites and the like, it makes it quite hard to find out more about the music and the artists, and also to obtain a lot of this stuff that isn't released/distributed in the U.S. without paying absurd fees to have discs imported o_O Also, I have a few questions about genre and such. Do they call it J-Rock in Japan? Just rock? J-Metal/J-Mathcore/J-Alt/etc/etc/etc? Just metal/mathcore/alt/etc/etc/etc? It seems anything being made today is just lumped under the umbrella of J-Pop/Rock... people who bicker endlessly about genres really bug me but I'd like more of an idea of where a lot of this stuff falls, some context for it, etc... Thanks!

Of course we ( I ) know Joe Hisaishi... Anybody who respects a good animation movie knows who he is. He's the famous composer that makes the soundtrack for a bunch of movies and shows, but he's more known for his close collaboration with Hayao Miyazaki, the creator/main director of the ghibli studios.

Thanks! I don't know any of the bands you've mentioned, but there is something called 'J-Rock' in Japan. I've seen 'J-Rock' signs in music stores, although I have no idea which bands exactly are considered 'J-Rock'. What I know for sure though is that the term J-Rock is used in a different way outside of Japan beacuse it's mostly used for Visual Kei bands. Those are not considered J-Rock but Visual Kei in Japan. As far as genres go there's J-Rock and J-Pop, everything else is probably considered the same way you would do it outside of Japan. Metal, Punk, whatever.

I spammed it on repeat weeks before it came out =D. 2. Oricon would be the main one, theres always JP itunes chart.

And yeah wish I could take pics but the rules for concerts like that... oh well. I went with my gf, and we both enjoyed it. Shit and why not go, cuz any J/K/C-Pop concert is rare to have in Wash. DC.
