Looking forward to this tournament, So many teams have so much to prove, and Secret seems relentless as well as composed. Should be some great dotes!
EG & Secret should roll, but Fnatic vs RNG is a mystery and it's new look TL vs Gambit. Let's see how this goes.
The thing about T2 teams is the invariable "we don't have any cores that can carry this game unless we snowball" drafts. Somehow the Minor drafts look better than most of these Game 1s.
I also like Secret's approach of using Bristle against a weaker team. NiP showed it's not great against the better teams, but it really does stomp all over when there's a big skill gap.
Only 1 ban of Wisp. Is a good sign.

First game of Liquid with w33ha looked good. One, two questionable gank attempts but they hit their timings perfectly and snowballed the game.
Pain is giving Secret a good fight. 47 min with only 1k lead for Secret although having claimed two full lanes of rax.
PaiN caused real pain. haha
TL missed their early rotations, but they had a much more stable draft (Weaver is just not viable in the against a top-tier burst DPS like TA).
2nd official game and out comes the w33ha Invoker, lol.
why is there tier2-3 casters with laggy mics and shit casting the group stage......
Lifestealer into Bane wasn't really a brilliant idea.
That was sloppy in nearly every teamfight from Liquid. The fissure blocks from gh during the last fights were more helpful for Gambit than for Liquid.
Fng played it perfectly on Bane. He roasted Liquid already at Birmingham with this hero. Don't know why they give him same again.
Game 3...let's see if they pull out now a desperate move with w33ha on Meepo.
Well, it's a better carry matchup, but the Axe is questionable, even for MC.
I know it's only series, but TL looks the same as before the Matu -> w33ha switch. Just with different Mids.
Edit: TL & Gambit are in EG's group, and they're already practicing their Cliffing Skills. r/Dota2 approved practice.
RNG with the "upset", though Fnatic losing isn't too surprising. I didn't see Game 2, but the charts point to a really weird ending, which might cost Fnatic dearly this LAN.

Fnatic about to tilt themselves out in 4th place in the group?

Io/Gyro is just not enough damage as a hard carry.
I am confused now. Who was the problem?

NiP tried to make it work at the Minor. Gyro is a great early BKB mid with a magic damage approach, but Gyro doesn't do enough as a right-click carry. NiP used BKB-first to win team fights at 20 minutes and roll over. ( https://www.dotabuff.com/matches/4843389725 ) Also had the first recorded pro Gyro buying a Rod of Atos. And it ruled in that game.
That's where Gyro is in the current meta.

Io is weak because the Pos 4 meta is so dynamic that the passive support play kills your timings.
