Universe should've focused on pressuring CCnC mid. Now he's let 33 catch back up with only a support kill to show for it.

I guess it allowed Abed to dominate mid though.

Universe pushed the DP out of mid two times and the casters say it wasn't a good move on his part, 2 minutes later they hype Abed up for winning his lane against DP. Guess what..

this kunkka is getting spooky

I think this game goes to fnatic unless there are some spectacular night stalker misplays

just seems like both of these teams is only able to do stuff on death prophet if they are ahead, both envy and ccnc had non existant impact on the game when they were behind

Stable laners, strong tower hitters.

is this the patch where if you can body down your opponents you simply win?

not leads by "stealing" kills, you gotta body them down

idk

imo: TI7 meta was rly nice to watch competitively (perhaps not so fun to play)
there were very clear clean cut defined styles between teams (secret, liquid,NB,VP), all of them always their own hero sets

but all of them somehow always had chance, the biggest contrast was when NB/other cn heavily rely on teamfights and comeback gold, very very contrasting heroes get picked, both sides not really wishing to "steal" picks, instead have their own.

Universe's early rotation was incredibly successful. He provided EE freedom to farm more bottom, he pushed CCnC out of mid lane for several minutes, and DJ got a free top lane to get a min 8 lvl 6. Then when the first night ended, Universe could return top to farm the lane while DJ went bottom to make plays with his level 6. Blitz didn't really seem to notice what was happening at that moment

ur wrong dude, yes fnatic is pretty terrible (this meta)

but Optic is the upcoming TI contender
what they wish for is pretty realistic aswel (harder opponents get beaten by someone else)

unlikeable or not, thats their strengths

edit: regarding majors, its kinda true though, competitive dota was alot more hype at that period

I don't think Optic is as good as you make them sound. They are promising, yes, but they are not even tier 1 according to me, let alone TI contender. They haven't done anything in any proper tournament that had all the top teams this whole season. Well, by the looks of things, its still not sure if Optic will even be there at TI.

Buyback changes really changed the way a lot of the game plays.

Yes. That NS & Undying won Fnatic the lanes. I was tilting seeing Universe doing nuthin the first night time, but the harass on DP really paid off big-time.

I partially blame Optic's lane setup. A standard 2-1-2 would've let zai get level 2 much faster, opening up opportunities to pressure mid and bottom. 33 could've chosen to push the waves into the tower instead of pulling them through the river. But he had no leeway to lay his DoT onto Universe.

NS winning lanes into a snowball victory is kind of the script to beat Optic, from the NA region.

In game 1 not sure if Fnatic could have done better top lane, but the game got really hard with that DP rotation top that got scouted by Optic's well placed ward. It's understandable EE wanted to make that move because Visage was about to hit 6 and he couldn't really stay bottom with DP, but it probably was pretty obvious for Optic as well and they put the lane ward down in advance and EE didn't use a smoke for it.

After that Fnatic had no chance really of contesting all the towers against Visage+Lesh, and Optic got deep wards down and the game was super hard to do anything in for Fnatic.

they got 33's Visage steal-the-game pick
n other pocket strats
its a huge advantage to be familiar with a few winning drafts

n im sayin they have the makings of winning "by-chance" the way other teams that win TI usually go, deservingly, but also having one two key opponents defeated by someone else

mayb a SEA/CN team knocking out the strongest contender, then gets stomped somewhere, this happens alot
