Dark Willow is not really balanced....
|
First ban techies... mski trolling
|
This DK pick is so sad against kunkka setup, can't even push towers as a DK.
|
Easiest DPC points for Mineski.
|
guess mineski are gonna win this tourney i predict mineski or vg
|
WTF ROFL
"Pick order!"
"America!"
|
actually i think eg could also make a push to the finals
|
I think secret has this game, Ace is way ahead of everyone else and Invoker is just here for control.
secret took both top lane towers + rosh and EG has been stuck on this bot tier 2 for like 10 minutes

I don't see how EG will function if Sumail doesn't play initiators. You can't put Fear on utility heroes and expect him to be the playmaker every game.
|
|
can Maut be just a little bit less biased towards EG
|
These Aegises have been very ineffectual across this game.
That force to stop Dark Rift was sick.

This forcestaff, HOLY SHIT.

Okay who made that force staff play, that was sick

what is this lich+bh as supports ?

Sven 4p1 is a lineup that is on a timer. It is really hard to do shit against es invoker shaman. Only way EG wins fight is Sven gets a good jump. Wish pros would pick up aeon disks more.
I believe that was midone's forcestaff?

waiting for the loser of this series to tweet about how cold it is in the venue

That's one of the most game-winning plays you can get. Without the forcestaff play, it's EG getting out, with it 2 dead cores with no buyback and a dead throne.
|
how the fuck did eg end up picking lich and bh that's kinda shitty support picks and they don't even have a decent core combination
nevermind i forgot we are on captains draft
|
Positively surprised by maut, I have in mind that he's ...not the best caster, but I neither minded him today nor yesterday.
Game was good as well, interesting to see sumail and fear with basically switched roles this game.

why are they playing in thick winter jackets, does these guys dont have any heating in the middle of the winter?

EG should've ban that razor instead of pudge

It's freezing compared to normal (10°F/-12°C), but still cold enough in January normally to require heaters (35°F/1°C).

Clinkz pick
I'm ready for game 3

Secret draft already look like a disaster. puck against nightstalker & the only building damage is lesh & he have to go highground against warlock & magnus

secret have nothing to stop this jugg
e: yeah brax agrees

Timber 100 dmg talent is better than 5 more reactive armor stacks honestly. Always dealt a ton of building damage with that talent choice instead.
|

Yee, I'm not convinced Clinkz is actually a hero this patch.
|
I don't think it was just the Clinkz, Lesh and Puck didn't have impact either.

Idk, with Clinkz+Lesh their problem wasn't building damage and most of EG's damage was physical. I guess you can siege better with timber, but Secret needed to win the fights first.

the silences from dp and misery owned es and puck

Yeah I'm not pointing fingers, Secret just crumbled every fight. EG really thrived on the vision advantage from NS.

No boots Kaya, I love it.

If nothing else, it feels like EG found their 2014-2015 identity again.
|
|
I knew I didn't like that SWM+LC 1st-phase pick
Edit: Nvm, EG missed their timing.
|
Fear Gyro bringing back some memories.

eg getting worse with every roster change they make lmfao

? They're performing well here for a team that just have experienced a roster change and role exchange.
Fear gyro is a sight I thought I wouldn't see again.
|
This EG is better than the previous iteration lol.
|
Didn't know still walking around aimlessly during the midgame is performing well.
|
Yea actually this wasn't bad at all for EG, they lost vs the favorite team and they put up a really decent fight and as someone else pointed out they just changed roster. They seems already better then before and i never liked the team but you have to give this to them.
|
On January 06 2018 06:38 Thetwinmasters wrote: eg getting worse with every roster change they make lmfao
I mean they did pretty good considering who they were playing. Secret has been by far the best team since TI.
|
On January 06 2018 06:38 Thetwinmasters wrote: eg getting worse with every roster change they make lmfao EG played a very good game and even fans of EG have to accept that in a EG vs Secret match EG is the clear underdog at the moment. I think they showed quite a bit of promise this tournament.

That was a really entertaining series! One of the best I've seen in a long time, lots of back and forth games.
I like EG's strategic ideas in terms of their laning stage, but they find themselves out of position a lot the mid game, especially SumaiL. While I think more time in the offlane role would certainly help him, he had this problem while playing mid too so it might just be a character trait they have to learn to play and strategize around.
Let's go Mineski! Show Team Secret the door.

Gotta say tho, I think Misery did really well. Warding and vision was on point all games.

seems like a pretty greedy draft from secret
|
why centaur though? to get out of mk ult?
|
just worried about ck if it gets to lategame for mineski

i honestly think jabz is a top 4 position player

Secret takes really good Roshans. Almost every game they seem to get away with a sneaked Rosh, way more often than any other team, i think.

That Mushi self Astral rofl.
Secret's teamfighting on point.

And struggled a lot in the groupstage actually.

I'm not sure how much you can take away from the group stage in this tournament since they were best of 1s. Mineski beating them once there clearly doesn't mean they'll auto-win every game they play against them afterwards.

is this pudge legit pick or they're just denying it for secret? i dont watch that much SEA dota

That was an Envy play by iceiceice. Hangs around at 200 hp like a boss, then just dies to a pounce. the fuck was he thinking?

Not denying that Secret are likely the favorites for the tournament, just saying that they looked less dominant than in the major they won and that there's more to being "by far the best team since TI" than winning a single stacked tournament.

Secret looking super strong for the rest of the tourney despite a poor group stage.

Secret has the most DPC points and has been in the finals of both Majors (and won one of them). Liquid won two minors (one of which Secret didn't even attend). Secret has also beat Liquid in their last 3 series (2-1, 2-1, 3-0)
By what measure has Liquid been doing better post-TI?

the current top 3 teams are around the same level. i wouldnt say any of them are the best. liquid is more consistent but secret played better at their peak. VP is strong but they tend to struggle in hard games

Secret has been the best team in the new season by any metric imaginable, there's no conversation to be had here.

Yep; I'm pretty happy with Mineski's performance in this tournament! They got some points back on the board, and they're a team that's much better in captain's mode IMO than in captain's draft since their drafting is not their strong suit imo.
Nothing wrong with losing here to a team like Secret. The hope is to be able to beat them when TI comes around; if you have to lose now to begin learning then that's a fine trade imo.

Secret's Midone seemed easily killed by opponents. Thats the opponents aim or because Midone standing in the fragile position?

But i guess Secret Yapzor is a little bit better than Jabz

On the other hand, EG looks promising. I couldn't fathom that Fear core is still as solid as ever, and both Arteezy and Sumail are adapting very nicely with just 6 competitive match, maybe they'll surprise us more at Genting and Katowice.
