This tournament is run horribly. The OQ teams played until late night, and starts first, and play immediately after into other teams first game.

In a more serious response, Valve doesn't care. Just like most of the community, if they went through OQ then they don't deserve to go to the Major over "better" teams. I disagree but whatever.

Well, they ought to care. It is beyond "tough" that teams that played obscene amount of games the day before, are given the worst possible schedule once qualified, while other teams not only have the benefit of watching their drafts, but also face teams that are totally fatigued. If they are "better", then they ought to fight on somewhat equal terms.
Imp was one of the most deserving ones, but they were put into OQ due to some roster lock issues, despite they are one of the only teams that made no changes.
This scene is run by people that are absolutely clueless, and Valve are as well.

There really is no reason why there can't be 1 day between the open qual #2 and the regionals. Or if it is the next day they could easily have open qual winner #2 set for the time slots that Liquid has as they start their day 1 late.
I don't think there is a reason or an excuse for this scheduling, it's just a stupid way of doing it and it's not like the fixes are somehow difficult to implement.

In fact they could start with CIS and then the europeans take over two hours later. It is not that hard, there are 4 CIS teams, enough to even play three rounds.

If you mention money, you imply that it is speculation into catering to more popular teams, thus not carelessness.

I don't think the CIS/Euro thing is really relevant given that they don't even start that early. It's just that the open quals always end very late in the night, and there is not much time between the 2nd qual ending and the regionals starting so the winner of the second qual should be set to a later starting slot.
