Yes, they both have a in your face strategy, but Newbee also plan for late game, are fine with that. CDEC was much more relentless pressure and high paced.Newbee actually plays fairly similar to how CDEC ran through TI5, in most of their games. Though the meta changes the heroes and the type of approach. (Newbee's Supports are a lot better then CDEC's, for one.) But it's the "we have a specific time we group up 3-4 and rotate to lanes to kill". Each game is a little different in timing, but it's always the same approach. Newbee does play their supports generally more defensive, but, well, Lion is so incredibly relevant all game with the lockdown that he can always gank. That's where Spectre or Wisp do so much work, especially in connection with Lion, as they can always get ganks when it's valuable. Preventing the other team from ever getting a clean fight is much of Newbee's early game defensive approach. If Newbee is trading even 1-3 with that 1 being a core, their drafting strategy leaves them enough room to hit their mid-game timings. (There's actually a pretty fascinating blend of CDEC & EG from TI5 in their playstyle.) Further, screwing up item timings might not be their necessary intent, but I'm starting to get the feeling that's what makes the timings so potent. (Though OG building wrong in Game 3 is a separate issue.) When you push back a farming item by a bit, suddenly those extra 2 minutes become really important 10 minutes later when you die in a team fight by 100 hp. I'd favor TL in the final, just because TL should be prepared for Newbee and TL's drafting has been on point, but it could go either way. Or one of them could choke horrible. Trash-tier Kpii could make an unfortunate return suddenly. | ||
