Yeah, there was quite a few moment that game past the 20 minute mark that would have made Secret lose the game so quickly if they didn't have such big of a lead. Maybe it was Secret just playing cocky, but I hope they don't lose focus, since the next games wont be easy.

I would rather close it out early. Doesn't matter how late game of a draft you have, if you get initiated with a Chrono + Egg + Aghs Death Ward + Inoker nukes, as well as the risk of Necro ult, you can lose a late game in a couple seconds... So I don't really think it's right to say that Secret had the better late game. I would be trying to close the game out asap where getting caught like this wont be the end of me.
Either way, worked well for Secret in end.

this mentality is wrong when ur team doesn't have the ability to break high ground against what you're facing.
its far better to catch them out and choke them out, like what happened.

Slark fits his style so well though, more than spec if you think about it. Envy's play is really map control and map presence based, and this mentality fits Slark perfectly as the hero can spot wards and farm deep into enemy territory with less risk than most heroes while having decent waveclear. So there is a lot of non flashy stuff that Secret gains from putting him on slark. He makes space for his team and keep the enemy on their side of the map because the creeps are always being shoved back by a sneaky slark. He is playing slark in a way that forces the enemy to be less aggressive. The slark game yesterday Secret was losing early game hard and Liquid would have been able to push much more menacingly if EE wasn't into the enemy side of the map intercepting creep waves and pushing. AM and Ember can be played in a similar style but AM and Ember are too slow for this meta

It looks like Puppey did his homework and figured out the way to beat Liquid:
- Don't give them NP
- Don't give them Ursa
- Don't give them ES
- Make Mind control's game as hard as possible
And there you go, an quick and easy formula to collect Shanghai Major money, since position-for-position every single one on Secret is light years ahead of Liquid's. Aside from the 3 must bans, none of Liquid's players are particularly amazing at anything else.
