I think this is the reason for the resurgence of the push strategies. There's no stable Mid Laners to choose from in the MDL meta, so either you have to play defense and scale your position 1 late or you try to take towers really quickly. At least, to my eyes that's what I've been seeing.
What about Earth Spirit? I think only w33 played it mid, but: 20-4 stats...

I don't think w33 has 24 games on Earth Spirit already and I assume those stats are not KD but wins/losses

There's been 6 Earth Spirit mid-games. (w33ha was 5-1 on it) Earth Spirit should be perma-banned for the rest of the tournament, so I don't think it's much of an option. Even then, he played it a bit like a cancerous Batrider or Puck. So it wasn't a hard carry role, meaning someone else had to scale hard.

Yes, Miracle is good on Invoker, but you don't let the Earth Spirit get through. With Dark Seer banned, Morphling isn't going to save you rOtk.
I like LGD, but they're so pigeonholed right now. Though at least the Chinese scene Ranking (Ehome > VG > LGD) is still holding form in the Bracket Stage. VG is having "EG-like" problems with Ehome this patch.

Fly is going back to the very defensive draft, considering Witch Doctor + Void comes out. If they can hold the lanes, they have this.

I'm down for the support sven. I think its really fun/interesting, but not necessarily good.

It strikes me as a good strategy against Tier 2 teams. It didn't look good against EG, at all.

Yeah. If they pick the sven last, you could put lina support, although then you have a shit mid... idk. that doesnt seem very effective, but just a thought.

Well svens stun is aoe, but imho it doesnt qualify as "great" in the aoe department, unless you combo it with a vacuum.
