If you don't get all of your mana burned by level 3 you have a chance, but you need to kill him. You can start boots and leverage your boots advantage. Clock can't start boots in exchange, and the boots advantage means he can't burn you until he also gets boots (by which point you hit level 3 already).

They have no way of passing through aegis without using the cooldows... Its a pretty simple decision to make when you are 20k ahead, even if they lose the fight there, its better than not pushing the advantage and giving the enemy spectre the space to catch up. That is some next lvl shitty decision making.

And considering the difference in skill level it's not surprising that Ice3 won that lane. On August 05 2015 13:17 TheYango wrote: You can start boots and leverage your boots advantage. You realize that Ice3 started boots in the matchup and despite the fact that Bone got the matchup he wanted he got completely wrecked. You don't need a lot of regen as clock in the matchup. Phoenix does no damage before level 3.

BTW why did this go away? was it only successful because of the surprise factor, did the teams learn how to deal with it, or are there just flat out better options right now?

It'd be like going to your kid's little league game, seeing them score 15 runs in the first five innings, and then watching them play in the dirt for the rest of the game while they get run over by the other kid's team. Fantastic analogy for how absolute shit c9 played post taking top rax...... holy shit......

Well that part I definitely agree with. Ice3 is a beast. But even without lane presence until 3 it still seems like Phoenix should at least get something out of the lane besides all mana burned.
