Why blame Black for this game? It is the team's dumb decisions to keep going on Medusa that loss them the game.

I think the loss was on the draft.

But Black sure didn't help either.

The loss was not on the draft.

VG put themselves on a clock when they drafted like that. Also the troll last pick was very questionable.

But of course, they could have ended early given their early lead, but going high ground against a Medusa Faceless.

It was heavily on the draft imo. If a team 17k up can't take a team fight and can't go highground, what else could it be.

The reason they loss fights after fights is because they paid too much attention to Medusa. They spent their spells trying to kill her, only for swaps to happen. She had no items. A Skadi Medusa is not a threat, just a tanky bait. If vici spent their efforts to get the +4 instead, game would be theirs easily.

Medusa was in their face. I know they played bad, but playing badly was only part of it.

They went in on ROTK and the others multiple times. The moment iceiceice went in, Xiao8 cancelled everyone's blinks on VG. It made it such that they could not go on anyone on the back lines.

That being the case, they had to run at the backlines whilst Burning slows them down with his Skadi. They were being kited very heavily and had no opportunity unless they came from behind. But that was not happening because BG would just turtle in their base.

So yes, the draft played a big part. But VG played bad too.

They had too little mobility. Western teams beat Medusa by picking mobility heroes eg Lycan, Storm, etc. and then coming in from all angles to kill the supports. To their credit, BG picked a Void to prevent exactly that, but with only a Skadi Medusa for damage they ought to not have been able to kill people in Chrono. VG just played too cocky, especially SF towards the end. Black also wasn't very useful that game.

And Medusa isn't THAT auto-win late game. I think I saw a fully farmed Medusa get demolished by Pugna in one of the recent tournaments. Forget which one. No matter how farmed Medusa is, at the end of the day she is one hero with a five second BKB and not even an illusion hero. There are tons of ways to keep her irrelevant in a fight. Cyclone, hex, decrepify, disarm, eblade, it all works provided you have a plan. VG didn't.

No one said Medusa was auto-win lol. Its just that VG's composition of heroes matched up badly against BG's. But its Xiao8, the master of the draft, we are talking about.

Also Western teams have been losing to Medusa too. Secret almost lost against Newbee (rofl).

VG had a plan. That was to win early and shut him down. But fy's unnecessary feed to medusa in the bottom lane was the comeback factor.

I mean, Luo plays rat heroes well (his Lycan/Invoker back in the finals of WPC S2 were pretty good), but.... ah shit, i guess nobody can play Brew well on ig.
