If it's actually a computer hardware issue, ESL is 100% to blame for that, regardless of their supplier. Sure there might "not be time" to test but that's a calculated risk they chose to take. ESL is ultimately responsible for everything that fucks up.

It looks like a bug with the server dropping everyone at once, a bunch of bad PCs and buggy save / reload code. A DDoS against the game or venue would manifest as the entire game lagging and eventually everyone dropping. Instant drops are not a DDoS - the client and server have timeout values so even if you pulled the network cable out your client wouldn't disconnect for 30 seconds. As there is no lag before the drops this seems to indicate a programming bug in the network code where a timeout is triggering when it shouldn't be. It's easy to blame everything on DDoS but it's kind of unlikely from what I've seen so far. More importantly, any idea what the solution is?

Granted, now only a single person dcs all the time, apparently because of pc issues (according to fng or smth). But yeah, insta-mass-DC looks like some form of drophack (or return of venge death-to-neutrals-bug).

Not if they were DDoSing or somehow otherwise attacking the actual game server instead of the venue's ISP.
