It's only a cheese strat because NAVI is not the ones capable of employing it. It's like no one read what I wrote they are just so mad I am calling Drow/Visage cheese. Tiny/Wisp is a combination that is just specifically strong as a combination based on mechanics that apply to every other hero. There's nothing specific Wisp does for Tiny that it doesn't do for anyone else. There's no small mechanics change that would leave the interaction between Wisp and most other heroes the same but would make Wisp and Tiny no longer powerful. That is what "very specific interaction" means. Pudge/Chen would be a far better comparison. The change to hook didn't change how Pudge works in the vast majority of non-Chen games, and didn't do anything to how Chen works in games without Pudge. It was targeted at that precise interaction between the two heroes. That is cheese.The fact that most teams are not good at Drow/Visage doesn't actually change anything. How many teams were good at fountain hooks?
Drow visage = fountain hooking. Using the fountain to kill heroes and inflict damage is equal to using visage familiars with boosted damage to kill heroes.
Drow isn't the only hero that can boost familiar damage.

Obviously fountain hooking was overwhelmingly worse but I guess you have to put that in a category that isn't called "cheese" because people will get offended. It's still a clear illustration of the concept I was talking about. Keep facepalming though instead of engaging with what I'm saying.

Btw... Drow - Visage is not similar with fountain hook. Drow combo is much more common and much more reliable. Thats why lots of teams (VG, C9, Tinkerino) draft it.
I think Drow's aura will take a big hit.

Fountain Hook is just an illustration of a specific interaction that was deemed way too powerful and hinged on a very small aspect of Pudge's mechanics that could be changed without really changing him or Chen as individual heroes. Other heroes could put him back at fountain too, that was just the best way to do it, just like other heroes can boost bird damage but the Drow interaction is pretty intense, and you could nerf it without hurting either hero to any noticable degree outside of the way they combine.

These unpauses are really unprofessional. Esports needs spectators, if you're going to have an extended pause you can wait for a g from the broadcasters.

but you descirbing an abusive way to use abilities (the design of the game wasnt intended for it) , in drow+visage its a OP ? not even sure , combination of the Drow Aura with other consumer of said Aura .
but your example of Tiny + Wisp is a bad one , becuase you cannot play wisp with any hero and feel the OP`ns of the hero , its with Tiny (sometimes CK) that this hero shines to great length .
so in the end of the day , pro players find the most optimal combinations in regards to what they want to acheive , PL + KOTL , Bane+Mirana , Wisp + Tiny so on and so forth.
bottom line this is not a cheese start , sorry , its just a strat ....

Cheese is a pretty silly term in Dota(except for, maybe, level 1 roshes) but VG and VP.Polar use it on a regular basis and there are a couple of other teams who use it as well.

now it's not just C9 but they originated this strategy they have been using this since 2013

We've been seeing a variety of teams utilize Drow+Visage lately. EG, Team Tinker and VG I've seen have used it but C9 is rightfully associated with the draft.
