also this ti lacked big storylines, nothing like liquid beating lgd at ti3. but i guess you can not blame newbee for that;) i just hope western teams step their game up next year.

Overall, the meta was much more versatile this year. And regarding the nature of the matches, I don't think any other two teams would guarantee a different result. Series like these happen all the time, it's not shocking that the grand finals would end up being such a series. And regarding any comments people have made about boring Chinese Dota, there's no consistency in that sentiment. This was four consecutive, quick, smashes, quite unlike what has been stereotyped as China's slow, conservative style. So I get the feeling that if Chinese teams play any game that is less then awesomely exciting, it will be attributed to some nebulous Chinese style that doesn't really exist.

All of that was broadcast ingame and online for western viewers so not knowing how NB played because they weren't in Western comps is pretty awful excuse. Yes but they hadn't played against NB themselves. Alliance played a billion games prior to G-league, still destroyed every one in the tournament, leading Chinese teams to try to adapt to that play style and pick wisp themselves. First hand experience seems to mean the world to pro gamers.
