Best World Championship Finals this year goes to BlazBlue

Jwong saving marvel > blazblue

I think I watched atleast two MvC 3 Evo finals and I still have no clue what is happening in this game lol

Ive watched some Marvel. It takes some time to get used to for sure.

But I can't just watch Marvel nowadays when we don't get to see Punisher playing or a Phoenix Wright

Phoenix wright knocked out Yipes last year. So awesome.

Was really a boring final. Same heroes each time, and 15 minute last game.
I used to be just like you, then I took a sweetroll to the knee.

Yeah they don't seem very excited considering how fucking rich they suddenly are

Did you see the reactions of the soccer world cup winners?
Some diddnt really show any emotion even though they just won a shitton of money and fame and market worth and whatnot.
Let them have a moment to realize it.

Those guys are already fucking rich ROFL

So what? Rich people always want even more. So the increase in market value can be seen as equivalent.

Depends on what do you think defines quality of game. Difference in skill or Raw skill of winning side. On first metric, all of those games sucked, on 2nd one, all of them are 5 stars.

TI finals are stomps because the teams are so close - you saw the stats kpoptosis brings up, sylar's gpm was the highest of TI going into the final, hao's gpm was 2nd. VGs first blood rate vs other teams was highest, newbee's was 2nd.

when you have these teams being so close, 1 mistake or 1 big team fight mistake is completely gg.

I kind of get what you mean, but if there were a large skill gap between the two teams, then I would imagine one big mistake would lead to an even larger snowballing effect, right? XP. I guess it's because both of them are really good and know what to do with their advantage.

Its not about the teams being close, its about the teams being good.

You ultimately only get back and forth games when both teams are making mistakes frequently enough that a winning team will throw their advantage before they can seal the deal.

Yeah that's literally what I was saying, I was saying he mischaracterized the nature of that dynamic and whatnot

Newbee uses "Winning Ceremony" - But nothing happened...

still awesome job by Valve, production crew and everyone involved in making such a huge event happen. I'm glad some german press also picked up on the event. No deep coverage but at least some nentions

Alright dota needs a patch really badly.

As if the dominant strategy 2 months after a major patch has ever represented the final state of the patch.

If anything the patch came to close to TI, not giving teams enough time to figure it out.

Welcome to every year where Valve mysteriously decides to patch a month or two prior to TI.

They did it at TI3 and it worked out. They have a pretty good record. I really blame VG for drafting like trash through the whole series.

No, lots of teams underperformed at TI3 outside of Alliance due to the patch right before.

Basically JWong beat the axis of evil. It was as if he beat Rat Dota, 4 protect 1, and 5 man deathpush in 1 tournament.

And it's still worse than BlazBlue, how's that possible?

BlazBlue was just that amazing. MvC3 finals were 2nd best though.

Well it would seem like Xiao8 put together the best dream team, feel bad for DK they didn't accomplish more but oh well they just weren't up for the challenge. Congratulations to Newbee.

TI4 has the biggest prizepool by far, but definitely didn't live up to the hype (not only the grand finals). For me TI3 was waay better

Hey but to be fair, up until the finals there were some pretty good games (not only in group, even yesterday), game 2 today was quite nice too, the crowd was wild, there were some great storylines made by Team Liquid people [your preview of the finals got me positively hyped!]... That last game was underwhelming as shit, but the TI4 as a whole wasn't bad.

good riddance, this would have been the least deserving winner of the biggest prize pool tournament in dota history if VG takes it, so congratz Newbee

They came up first in the group stage and then beat every top team apart from ig to get to the finals.
How the fuck are they not deserving to be there.

because they face-rushed/ allin pushed every game, save for the ones they lost. I know they play to win, but i watch to be entertained, so F them.

So yeah, thank god VG got denied the 1st place, if it was a different format with more bo3s, and more bo5s in semis or quarterfinals, VG would have packed their bags days ago

yeah lets rather play to entertain Geo.Rion instead of trying to win a tournament that means everything to you LOL ... i mean are you serious?
