Given that the games are bo1, I think even the wildcard team can mix the results up a bit. Top10 to get to phase 3 is highly contested of course and very unlikely, but I wouldn't be surprised if the wildcard team takes some key games and has a big effect on who actually gets those 10 spots.

I suppose, but I rarely encounter lycan pickers at my [low] mmr. Just fingers crossed he won't reach drow/pudge/sniper/pa levels of popularity etc etc (dotabuff has him quite lower atm iirc?). But yeah that makes sense, it's just more fun in da trench to pick those heroes and stuff
