Assuming DK win their group everybody else actually would rather come 2/3 than 1/4... gogo C9 :D but group B are seeds 5-8 already if you haven't noticed, they're meant to be lower than group A Point being in group B you would rather come 2nd than 1st if your primary fear is the #1 seed after groups (likely team DK). But Group B will match at first. You don't have to choose your opponent's chance.

I thought NewBee aren't allowed to field SanSheng like VG couldn't used Sylar last season and Coach Li would be a substitute for him. Can anyone confirm this?

I don't see the point in the group stage? Wonder if alliance bootcamp is gonna pay off this time.

Love the bo7 finals tho.

Sylar was a player of RisingStar then, so he can't play for VG. But Sansheng had no team before, so he is allowed.

Love the bo7 finals tho. Isn't it the usual 1st place of group A against 4th place of group B pairings though ?

I think he's just a stand-in, not a official player.

Chinese DotA marathon will continue, after the MDE madness finishes.
Oh god, my exams are also coming closer each day. Fuaark.

Hey juff, will you be able to post drafts for the first day? If not I can do it myself, it's not a big deal I was just curious

voting for DK, but as TI is coming up and DK have shown to keep their strategies secret for now (and play very bad, even worse than throwing) + they are in group of death makes chances of even getting out of the groupstage very small T_T even though none get knocked out in group stage.... >.<

based on recent results and playstyle (before the big oh-noes-TI-is-coming-up, better hide all our good plays and just show some crappy throws) VG and newbee actually were the most consistent good performing teams, DK always has had some random throws and cloud 9... well i think that's pretty clear. when singsing and aui have a good day, they are unstoppable otherwise they might even lose against the tier 3 AM/EU teams (as they have shown before)

I really think people are overestimating the potential for "pre TI throws". If you go and play in a tournament, you are going to try to win. There is still 1,5 months until TI and several tournaments in between, so I feel it's totally pointless to hide strategies. Whether there is a chance to use a particular strategy is another story, but I don't think anyone goes in with the intention of holding back a particular strategy.
About c9: I won't be surprised at all if they do well here. Last time when they were in China they weren't happy with the trip as a whole, but stating that they did really badly isn't exactly true either. They beat VG and Titan in groups and every match they lost against DK, LGD or Tongfu was 1-2. I remember watching some of those games and they did some really silly unforced mistakes in several of their games, and I didn't get the impression at all that the Chinese teams are out of their reach. They also recently put EE back in the drafter position, so it will be interesting to see how they do in that regard.
