well when select walked into ld/ns after they ganked puck with 30% hp just to feed, that was objectively bad.
i don't think that's enough to call him a BAD player, he's still learning and I have confidence.

He plays well from time to time, but also makes mistakes. Early game against LD ,he did excellent. Same as with Bounty and denying Bat in G1. If he can cut the mistakes he keeps doing, it's going to be different story. Well ... that's where I'll have to disagree. Even if he stops making small/big mistakes, I can't really see him being anything but a low-tier player. I know it's kinda hard to say, but ... I really don't see anything in his play that should make me think otherwise. Maybe I'm being a bit too hard, but yeah ...

Fnatic played extremely well, but Select also played terribly. Also, my statement wasn't about this particular game, but moreso Select in general.

fnatic's trilane countered so freaking hard.
void was useless for the entire game The line up was too EXP greedy, yes.
However, Select did make some horrific moves.

i wouldnt go and easily blame one player there on qpandas, their draft was weak early and they just got shutdown very hard since they never got their ultimates up

QPAD red pandas losing EGM to nth and picking up select to quickly make a full roster really set them back a few months.

i just don't know because my knowledge of dota isn't that good (yet) so i try not to judge players. i don't say you can't do it by my sentiment is more an attidude thing that i've learned over so so mayn sc2 lr threads to be more positive for the winning team/player and focus on that rather on the loosing team/player.

I don't really understand why you assume that QPAD was formed with TI3 in mind. It just doesn't make sense as they themselves have said that they looked for members that are dedicated and easy to work with, which suggests that they were looking beyond TI. If they really had wanted to form a team that can qualify for TI and perhaps disband afterwards why would they pick up jrx and select who both, as they said, are still not totally familiar with the game.

I don't think Select is a bad player, but I would say he has been introduced to the high level scene a little bit too fast.
He's not ready yet.

SeleCT said on stream he would consider going back to SC2 after TI3... but who knows right.

Fnatic is probably my favorite team so trust me, I'm aware that they did well Select on the other hand has seemed like a questionable pickup as a player from the start, and these game only servered to further solidify that in my mind. He didn't really do anything in either game 2 or 3 (I didn't see g1), which you need to do as the 3 position. Compare him with Trixi.

Of course he was tri-laned against, but that's sort of his role, and he shouldn't have lost 2 bears in like 2 minutes.

Well, Trixi is one of the more shaky offlane players, but most of the time he manages to be of good use to the team. He's one of the better offlaners imo.

Eh, have a hard time saying Trixi is one of the better offlaners. He's good mid-late game, but offlaners can't afford to fail so hard early game as he does sometimes. He's quite inconsistent compared to Bulldog or something.

Trixi is like rOtk in some regards, brilliant when on his game but tends to feed on the offlane too, very inconsistent.
|
People really need to shit on some players for losing instead of praising a well executed win
|
Would never compare him to rOtk. Yes, his early game can be shaky, but he never fails in the long run. And while I completely agree, that he should polish his early game, sometimes not being as agressive as he is, I think there's room for it in Fnatics play. He takes up so much time for the opposing team, and he always does that. True, a game like the one he had with Weaver vs Liquid is horrendous, but I think he makes up for it most of the time.
