Remember the EternalEnvy a month or 2 back? He said that Loda doesn't pay attention during the draft and only shouts random heroes he wants to play from time to time. I think this spectre pick was one of these cases.

They didn't lose just because of Spectre. They were already at a pretty bad place before it.

Have people not actually watched any of the Nth Spectre games? Bruno clearly hasn't by what he's saying.

They picked roaming gankers and wanted to get an early game advantage. The spectre isn't supposed to go past 30 minutes.

It was a bad strategy against a tanky line-up and they also executed poorly. But I don't know how many times I need to tell people that Spectre isn't played to go 50 minutes.

Sure, but the Spectre definitely didn't help them... Even a Sven at least has a stun, or a Void with Chrono. You know... a hero that does something, not a spectre.

What? Spectre don't do much at early-mid game.

spectre would be contending the title of "worst hero to pick in that situation" though

maybe dusa would've been worse

tough call

the way their opponents have played against spectre has been fucking awful

i think this has been the first time their spectre trilane has been contested (and a chinese team would still probably call that a failure from dignitas, as the initial dual lanes were just giving the spectre free money for no reason)

A void would do even less in this position. The point is they went a ganking line-up against one of the tankiest line-ups you could possibly get.

To a degree, but even in this game Spectre got enough farm that if the rest of the line-up was working he would be able to haunt in and get kills to push him over the edge at 20-25 minutes.

When I see games like this, I legitimately have to wonder how the other four members of The Alliance don't just want to walk into a corner and cry.

Buying a Radiance in that situation? I thought NTH Like to play this type of game off pressure and kills early, ugh.

Well, but then you can't really just blame Loda. They had a 4 heroes with almost no damage on their first picks, they would need a mindblowing pick to actually have a decent draft.

I don't think switching Sven for Spectre would make a bigger diference than say, picking a mid hero with good damage and moving Nyx to support or something.

If you wanna blame someone, blame the captain.

By the other 4 do you mean everyone except s4? Because I called that spectre pick, they've played this before. This isn't Loda saying something and s4 giving in. This was the plan from the first 3 picks, it was a bad plan against the Dignitas line-up.

Tweeting at Trance could help. I guess he is the producer when trance/progressive/whatever is on.

This. I don't think any hero for last pick would've mattered.

Not sure, but in case you were wondering the previous tune was Solid Globe - Sahara and the current one is Marco V - Simulated.

Oh, I'm not talking about the picks or the general strategy of the game, I'm talking specifically about the fact Loda went for a Radiance at the end there. Yes, they were completely fucked at that point anyway, yes their plan wasn't a very high-success one against Dignitas's lineup, and yes, the standard NTH approach with Spectre relies on earlier pressure/kills and Loda not playing for fifty minutes; but ugh, there was something about that that just burned.

thing is, that's down to slip-ups from dignitas more than anything. if you just rotate your supports to wherever spec is there's 0 he can do to get farm; the fact he got something resembling a fast 6 is pretty terrible

spectre is good in the western scene for the same reasons that wisp is, except spec needs gold as well as levels, and his laning presence is like 3x worse than wisps. drafting him alongside a jungler (even one who can have some early game presence) just seems really, really stupid and i'm reminded of the one time the chinese tried to draft him (dk right?) and how horrible it was

iuno, seeing nth/alliance win with that kinda draft before just makes me lose respect for whoever they're playing against, really. spec is really really fucking good in certain situations, but I don't feel nth are sensing weakness and doing it (like when teams run triple/quad core strats ie. bat jungle etc.) - they're kinda just going "yo lets get a spec and kill shit" even when their lanes are weak

like, you don't see naix/druid/mag and go "fuck yeah weak lanes", you go "we're getting aggressive tri'd". that's just the default response

I wouldn't agree.

Dazzle, Meepo, Huskar, Enchantress, Lich, Sniper and Broodmother just to name a few.
