Keita stomps imperium gamers and moves on to face Navi.

This is one of the worst games I've ever watched. Feel bad for LD and S4 wasting their time casting this.

To be fair it's only one game whereas the defense you had to watch a lot more of these type of games. I really prefer the GSL style bracket.

Yeah, I like this format coming to Dota 2. I just wanted to tune in to listen to S4, but... Let's just say he didn't have very much to talk about with this game.

Imperium wins over Eosin+4. So Navi and Keita Gaming advance. Navi vs Keita coming up in a few minutes.

Nobody has advanced yet

Winner of Na'Vi vs Keita Gaming advances as 1st place seed, loser fights Imperium for 2nd, only 1st/2nd will advance!

i really like this format. 2 games less per group is good in the first stage and every group is done in one day, so you actually now whats happening.

I'm really liking this triple sobi mask lone druid build. I wonder if it will turn into the new meta instead of the useless maelstroms etc.

Yeah, I love the format too. It's easier on the teams as far as scheduling goes, there are no meaningless games, and it weeds out the teams who aren't quite as solid very quickly. Most importantly for me, there is a storyline that you can follow from beginning to end each day; you start with 4 teams each day, you end with 2, and every match affects the outcome of that narrative.

In the traditional online round-robin format, not only are there meaningless matches, but you often have no idea how a particular match fits into the overall storyline for the group stage (even if the tournament shows standings / brackets, you still only get a few random chapters from that story each day in most cases).

You might get a FEW less total games from the top teams (the ones you're missing would have been stomps anyway), but every game affects the overall results of the tournament and you get the same number of meaningful games in the later stages than you would in any other Western event.

Basically, GSL format is great and we're super pleased WePlay agreed to give our take on it a shot!

Group D arrives! Basically every team except FnaticEU in this is kind of a wildcard, so we could see some interesting games, some uninteresting games, or even some noshows. http://www.vykromond.com/one/2013/03/weplay-dota-2-group-d-mini-preview/
