bit of early pooling and at 5 mins Hanni's TA is 23/21 vs Illidans 16/6 OD. Not bad!
Wow that was ridiculous from Fnatic. Farm is in their favor and I am loving the Windrunner action.
Fnatic with the 5 core lineup.
wow...how did VP get wrecked so hard?
This is one hell of a scrappy fight.
That was brutal but ok >> vp with Standing

Damnnn. The stand-in calling the GG and then disconnecting but immediately reconnecting. Game ends with no GGs from VP players. I don't think they're too happy with their stand-in hahah.
That was such a fail gank by VP.
i bet for TL. should i regret this or are they fine atm?>
Stop being so cocky Mouz <.<
Not liking what I see this game. Really sloppy from both sides. Mouz does not really deserve to win this game tbh.
Root gaming is strong in this game

Oh man, that's 5 straight losses for VP today. Hopefully the next game stops the bleeding. Please?
The Razer pick was weak versus mouz 3 core lineup, since you still have 2 carrys that hit fairly hard. I assume VP wanted to shut down black completly in the early and they almost managed that, but Fata- helped mouz winning the midgame and from there on, mouz could literally not lose.
Man Mouz just running VP over.

In their last meeting vs Alliance, they dominated game 1, had a pretty close game 2, and lost pretty badly in game 3 IIRC. However, Liquid was playing with a standin for Korok in those games.
Alliance is still the favorite, but they're not that far ahead of Liquid i think.
So does Liquid even have a chance to go top4?
Doesn't really matter I think. If Alliance wins today, Liquid will be in the top 6 and will have to play either Mouz or Fnatic and then either Na'Vi or Alliance in order to reach the finals. Unless I'm interpreting this weird thing incorrectly http://www.d2l.gg/Playoffs/

I'm absolutely shocked that EG still has a chance to reach the finals.
Of course, "chance" means Dignitas loses their next 2 and VP gets 0-2d in their next 3, but still.
there is no way for eg to qualify
Tree, CM and Pudge. Amazing!
dismember could prove to be a powerful disable vs the AM for a long period of the game
So Alliance found the counter to Tree, TL doesn't realize and plays way to arrogantly.
[A] already starting dicking around, TL could come back in light of these cocky plays
Came late, is Altar bulldog or a standin?

Korok killing the dream D:

S4 can Pudge, and Alliance team coordination/individual skills are still out of this world. Liquid is a very good team, and look at the level [A] outplays them.
This is hilarious and I'm not even watching with sound,
28 mins BFury is the slowest i can remind.
this game is hurting me
Someone needs to get Ayesee to a tailor. I haven't seen such an ill-fitting jacket in many moons.
lol Pudge ban and Mirana first pick phase. Are you ok guys?
Well TL royally screwed up their USE game with pretty bad plays by pretty much everyone but Bulba, very small chance of them winning this set :/

What was "arrogant" about it? I don't understand why everyone feels like taking a dump on the losing team.
Alliance sure seems to be having fun, I guess both team are through to the next stage so it isn't the most important game in the world.
Not sure Liquid are quite as easy going, though maybe with the Mirana pick they at least want to take some revenge
Professional minimap drawing out of alliance, lets see if TL can come back
Picking Nighstalker against tree? That sounds like a terrible idea.
pretty good fight from Liquid, even tho they were 3v2
bdiz told ayesee god damn =))
Akke so legit.
Bulldog almost Sylar'd TL
HOLY SHIT LOL
HAHAHAHAHA
benny hall theme with bulldog down there
i can imagine bulba shaking his head while typing that
ixmike doing so much work with that armor. without tree they would be like 10-2 down.
i guess s4 is legit too...
TL hacked Bulldog. Turned off his Root button.
Alliance wants to take this late, midas/radiance builds from bear and naga, Liquid should be more active.
tc, why time lapse so early?!
naga siren and druid are almost too huge to handle

Sigh. Damn that was a spanking.
nice farm on naga, 364 cs
i feel sad for ixmike
TC's Timelapses were highly questionable throughout the game.
So...if Dignitas loses their next match, and VP loses 0-2 in their next game...EG makes the finals?
EDIT: Nvm, standings aren't properly updated.
Time to put the tree strat into the dumpster, if you're no longer winning your lanes with it? Whereas game 1 seemed the result of carelessness on Liquid's part leading to a snowball effect, game 2 seemed like a thorough outdraft to me. What's a Mirana gonna do against LD/Naga/Nightstalker. How's Weaver going to have a good game against Naga/Disruptor. Not to mention two silences against Dark Seer.
I think Liquid handled the NS really well early game. I don't understand the decision of giving safelane farm to Mirana, because she is not a carry with a built in steroid skill. Even if you do, then getting the midas is not the best item choice, because you want her to get her core items fast and start participating in teamfights early to snowball through kills and roll over your opponent's carry.
Loda's Mirana build in the previous game was much better IMO, early drums + manta + diffusal is the way to go IMO.
Edit: Also it might be a good idea to ban disruptor if you're playing weaver IMO.

Well played from Alliance. Especially considering it's like 2:30am and they're at a Lan cafe after all moving in together earlier in the day.

I'm pretty sure without the tree [A] goes 10-2 earlygame and not 5-7.

does ixmike even play any other hero besides shadow demon

I really feel like ixmike is the weak link on teamliquid when hes not playing shadow demon

They got a kill off, and DS pressured him in lane fairly well, but as soon as S4 started roaming he got one or two kills, but more importantly slowed TL's farming by a noticeable amount.

Pointless 'what if'.
It's not about if the tree was useful or not in preventing kills, it's about if the tree helped you secure the advantage which you needed. So with a weaver it allows you to dive super aggressively. Or it allows you to keep your farmer from dying.
Liquid didn't get all that much done with a line-up in weaver/potm which really does need to get something done fairly early.
I don't think there's a problem with the strategy, but it needs to be played a lot more aggressively.
I heard ixmike's tree was like 20-2 before this series. Never won against [A] with it though, it is possible Liquid has trouble winning regardless of draft.

ixmike is fine on the 5 position. He does tend to roam way too much in the enemy jungle with nature's guise, and virtually stays our of XP range for most of the game. Its great for scouting, but puts you way behind in terms of XP and the occasional last hit. Also with other supports, you aim to stack the ancients and the neutral camps as much as possible, to give your carry a leg up, and leech some experience, but with the way treant is played, its hard to do that.

Well, they won the earlygame I would say. What do they do with another hero? They won the bottom tri, so they would have won it even harder, but tree allowed them to keep up top, and win mid. Until S4 started rotating Bulba was actually doing better, even solokilling him.
My point is, if they draft some lane support hero instead of tree, this game is over much much earlier. I agree that the Mirana/Weaver picks seemed weaker, tho I liked the weaver, weaver-tree just too god to pass off and I can't suddenly think of another hero who could have done better against the alliance dual lane.

This tree/CM strat is designed to just have Liquid's solo heroes sit in the lane and win the early game by default thanks to armor/cm aura, while being able to zone out the enemy offlaner with CM. They normally always defensive trilane with this strat, but for some reason they felt the need to pressure LD while sacking their Weaver. That turned out to be a very bad trade since Alliance had the better lategame/ 5man by far. Not to mention Liquid showed their hand too early, enabling Alliance to simply counterpick the Weaver. Weaver needed to be a in a 1v1 matchup and dominate it with armor. An underfarmed weaver is okay against supports but doesn't do shit against tanky heroes like LD/NS/Naga. It's a similar story with Mirana.

Simply outdrafted in game 2, nothing to do with Tree itself.
Kinda disappointing that Liquid, who were sitting pretty in their Vegas bootcamp, cannot even contest a single game versus a team that just before the match had to quickly travel to and set up at a Swedish internet cafe late at night.
