Pick a replay where you're not sure what went wrong, try to analyse it and ask people to improve on that analysis. I'm really trying man, I just don't know what I am doing wrong. I mean I know that I can't win every game but I feel like whatever role I play, mid or carry player in my team doesn't play for win they just throw it away and it really bothers me because some players (on any tier) just wins every game like it's a piece of cake.

What he is saying is edit this post with a link to a replay and add your thoughts on the game, what did you do well? What did you not do well? Then others can look at the same replay and give you some feedback on it

Idk why people think playing mid or carry is going to help them win the game. 80% of the dota games i play are won in the first 20 minutes (including the picks). If you are able to : secure multiple lane win with a support (mid + safe usually), win the vision battle in the early/midgame, use that little advantage to put your team in position to rosh or to contest enemy team rosh, build glimmer/forcestaff/solar crest and keep your core alive in fights. Playing core really depends on the impact your team had, playing support is setting the tone of your game.

You see, you are telling me how to win games but I want to know how to improve myself, my decision making no matter what role I play I want to be able to be ready for all kind of situations But, I will follow your advice and pick support for the next 30-50 games and see how it works and then they will never give me core role because my GPM will be <500 lol.

From this thread I can see you have a defensive attitude towards the advice given here. If you want to improve, that is not only related to in-game things, but moreso the ways you are able to process information and how you are able to set your goals. If getting a higher mmr is important to you as a hobby, dedicate certain amount of time to studying the game more (see below), if you aim to go pro you need even more time. If you are not sure about why you play DotA, think about that and why mmr is important to you ![]() A general tip for anyone below 7ish k is to watch someone else's replays of your better heroes and see what they do, and compare your own play to that. That is immensily helpful, and can provide much improvement in just a couple of study sessions per hero.

But hey, anyone can do anything they want Good luck in whatever you decide!

Most pros are 7k+ and often troll around in their pubs. I mean it's your call in the end, but 5k just isn't where it's at tbh. Hell a friend of mine is 6.8 and he said that every time he meets miracle in a pub he gets eaten alive. And Miracle is the kind of person you are going to have to play (and win) against if you go pro and want to live from the money.
